 Subject: Here is another goody!Message: HAVE YOU EVER BEEN GUILTY OF LOOKING AT OTHERS YOUR OWN AGE AND THINKING, "SURELY I CAN'T LOOK THAT OLD?" WELL... YOU'LL LOVE THIS ONE! I WAS SITTING IN THE WAITING ROOM FOR MY FIRST APPOINTMENT WITH A NEW DENTIST. I NOTICED HIS DDS DIPLOMA, WHICH BORE HIS FULL NAME. SUDDENLY, I REMEMBERED A TALL, HANDSOME, DARK-HAIRED BOY WITH THE SAME NAME HAD BEEN IN MY HIGH SCHOOL CLASS SOME 40-ODD YEARS AGO. COULD HE BE THE SAME GUY THAT I HAD A SECRET CRUSH ON, WAY BACK THEN?? UPON SEEING HIM, HOWEVER, I QUICKLY DISCARDED ANY SUCH THOUGHT. THIS BALDING, GRAY-HAIRED MAN WITH THE DEEPLY LINED FACE WAS WAY TOO OLD TO HAVE BEEN MY CLASSMATE. HMMM,...OR COULD HE??? AFTER HE EXAMINED MY TEETH, I ASKED HIM IF HE HAD ATTENDED MORGAN PARK HIGH SCHOOL . "YES. YES, I DID. I'M A MUSTANG," HE GLEAMED WITH PRIDE. "WHEN DID YOU GRADUATE?" I ASKED. HE ANSWERED, ! "IN 1959. WHY DO YOU ASK?" "YOU WERE IN MY CLASS!" I EXCLAIMED. HE LOOKED AT ME CLOSELY. THEN, THAT UGLY, OLD, WRINKLED SON-OF-A-GUN ASKED, "WHAT DID YOU TEACH?" |

I couldn't stand my high school, and only went to my 10th and 30th reunions kicking and screaming because my best friend from high school was going and didn't want to go alone. I wasn't available for my 20th so at least I got out of that. But one thing that I and most of the women noticed was how youthful, stylish and fit most of the women still looked while the majority of the men looked far older than their years. I don't know the reason, it didn't look like cosmetic surgery to me, it simply looked like the women had just taken better care of themselves or cared more about their appearances than the men. Of course, I went to high school with a bunch of surfer dudes, so maybe all that polluted ocean water finally got to them! Jill |

I made a vow when I got out of school that that was that for me. I went to school with a bunch of snobs and the ones that were my friends then are still my friends today. We do NOT go back to rehash how utterly miserable those *girls* made us. You know the type, the beautiful people! UG! Besides beauty is only skin deep, but UUUGLY goes all the way to the core, and those beautiful people were an ugly bunch! |
