Subject: Toothache
Message: Gosh darn. What is going on with the teeth. Barb tell Red that I am suffering in agony with him. I am glad there is no one in the house that knows how to use my camera because I am a sorry looking thing sitting here at the computer with ice in a baggie and the baggie stuffed into a sock and all held against my face with a chin strap that I found when going through my junk. Glad I did not pitch it because it helps to hold the make-shift ice pack in place. I mean to tell you ladies, this is not a pretty picture. <grin> I just read to use some sore throat spray on the tooth and take ibuprofen until I can get to the dentist so I am trying all three, ice pack included. I think my dentist is closed Friday so this could be a long weekend. Barb, tell Red - I FEEL HIS PAIN!

Message: June! Get a tube of Sensodyne toothpaste. I have a molar that threatens root canal now and then from a touchy nerve. Sometimes a couple days of Sensodyne makes the difference. My dentist has told me to do that! Good luck!

Message: There is definitely something in the air re: teeth problems. I
haven't had one problem in many years (I'm the daughter of a
dentist - he is now retired - so I was brought up with good
dental care). Well, one of my teeth cracks and partially breaks off
for no reason (and don't tell me it was those sticky nutty candies
I was eating, ha, ha, because it didn't happen then). So not only
did it cost me over $800 to have an indirect crown, but the thing
still hurts and is very sensitive, even when using the Sensodyne-
type toothpastes. As a Lyme patient, I'm not supposed to get
crowns because the Lyme bacteria hide in them, but the dentist
said I would lose my whole tooth if not. So anyway, when we all
say, I FEEL YOUR PAIN, it is so true. What is going on?
If there's a tooth fairy out there, she's gonna hear from me!

Message: I was up all night with this darn tooth. Just had my cleaning and six month check a couple of months ago so this came as a surprise. I called my dentist at 7:00 a.m. and got his recording saying the office would be closed until Tuesday. So, called another dentist my husband and I have been going to for our cleanings due to a change in insurance. Don't ya just love it Moi! The receptionist asked if I could be there in about 45 minutes. You bet! At that point I would have crawled through fire. I have an infection in my lower molar. Damn! Have to have a root canal and a crown to the tune of over $1200 - so he says. Ouch! I have only had one toothache in my life and that was years and years ago. Forgot how painful it can be. This is worse than having a baby. I am on antibiotics so I hope they kick in soon. Ya know, I really should have set my camera on the timer and taken a picture of my ice pack get-up last night. I could have posted that on the beauty board. Sometimes a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do. It may have looked strange, but it freed my hands up for typing. Oh, and just FYI, I am June on this board, but if I post anywhere else, like the Q, I am cachet44.
Hey Barb, how is Red. Is he reaching for the pliers yet.

Message: June I am gald that you were able to get to a dentist..you poor thing! I think teeth hurt more than anything...sometimes when I have sinus infections it will even effect my teeth and it is painful so I feel for you!
But I do agree it hurts worse than child birth.

Message: June - I'm so glad he saw you! You'd have been insane by Tuesday. Figures you'd end up needing the "royal" treatment eventually. That's always been my luck too.
I once had a flare up that actually shot up the side of my face. It felt like fire. Dental pain is so intense when the nerves get involved. Remember the old TV shows where people would tie a tooth to a string and a doorknob, then slam the door to pull it? Glad you didn't resort to that, but you might have been close.
