Subject: What Nail Polish To Use
Message: Barbara, I ordered the kit and will get it soon (you should have received my check Tuesday). My question is what kind of nail polish do you recommend we use? Or stay away from. Many thanks.

Message: HI Gena,
I got an email from Barb saying she was running a fever and Red is in dental pain so just in case she doesn't make it on, I'll throw in my 2cents. For the first 30 days it is STRONGLY recommended that you go bare nails. That gives the product plenty of time to seal the nail, which makes the nail retain the moisture that is vital to healthy, strong nails.
After that, Barb still wants you to go nekkid (on the nails) but the ladies here are rebelling and looking for good polishes that might be less traumatic to the nail. A couple of ladies are trying a water based polish found at Honeybee Gardens. They will be reviewing the polishes and letting us know how they like them.

Message: gena - you are sure you don't have any condition like fungus that is causing the lifting?
The NGF won't hurt you, though, even if you did have fungal problems. Because you are dealing with lifting the ideal is to keep those nails softer and moister so they don't pull away from the beds from any rigid coatings. Even nail polish could do that.
I know what you mean by wanting to cover up that look because that drove me crazier than anything else after the acrylics until they finally started to adhere to the beds. Plus dirt finds its way into those lifted pockets. Speaking of dirt, soak your hands and use a soft nail brush to clean under your nails. Using a sharp pointed file to clean pries the nails up and the cycle continues. I really had to refrain from this one!
Hope you have superb results. Keep us posted! Just think, after 30 days, you might be able to use that waterbased polish we are test running. (Along with your NGF, of course).
