Subject: Water based polish
Message: In a past discussion I mentioned about the water based nail polish I got a couple of years or so ago from Honeybee Gardens. I see where there have been some posts that the Q is now selling this. Well, believe it or not, I was going through my stash of stuff I had put away and found four bottles of the nail polish I had ordered from them a long time ago. I could not believe that they were still good. They do go on like regular nail polish, not thin and watery like you might think. I would suggest using their clear coat first and then the colored polish over that, especially if you use the dark shades. Yes, you do peel it off, just like they say. You just get a little corner started and it will peel off in one solid piece. It does not harm the nail at all. The nail looks just as it did before you put the polish on. Still pretty and shiny after you peel the polish off. I have the Clear, Tuscany, Goddess, and San Francisco (like this one also). I had Fairy Dust, but it was not with the others. I know I really liked that one so maybe I used it all - probably on my toenails during the summer, who knows. Just wanted to update you ladies since some of you thought you might like to try this. I can't make a statement as to how it holds up on the nails because it has been so long since I used it. Guess I should give it a test run again. Maybe I will do a pedicure tonight with it. It may be one of those love it or hate it products for some of you, but don't we all have those in our beauty stash?

Message: Excellent June. Thanks for letting us know about that. Not to mention the fact that they are not "globbed up" after all this time! What a mouthful that says about their product.....

Message: Thanks, June, for the report - it's nice to hear from someone
who has experience with the product. I was intrigued by the
recent posts so briefly checked out the Honeybee website. It
looks like they now offer two types of nail polish - the original
peel-off like you have, and now one that comes off with
remover. I don't know the pros and cons of each - again, I just
skimmed it, but it looks like they have a very nice selection of
products and colors. There are also instructions on how to use
the polish if you have very dry nails which might prevent the
polish from adhering properly.

Message: Wow, June! You never know what's kicking around in the bottom of your nail polish basket! Looks like you will be the first person to give us a review. You get to do the peel-off and Lori and I will report on the removable. It's interesting that they offer both now. Let us know how the pedicure goes.

Message: Hi Lori and all - When I bought the water based polish they were just getting ready to introduce the other type so they had their peel-off polish on sale. I am not as a rule a person that wears nail polish a lot, except on my toenails, so I wanted to try this while it was on sale. I could not believe it when I came across them sitting in my stash of products and they had not thickened or gone gloppy after all this time. The peel-off polish (original) is most likely not going to adhere to the nail like the new formula they have now, but it is pretty darn good. As soon as this tooth settles down from a roar to a meow I will do a pedicure and maybe a manicure and see how long it stays on since I am constantly washing my hands due to all the critter care here at my household. It has been so long since I used it that I have forgotten how long it stays on before chipping or peeling off. For sure it is not going to damage the nail and I doubt that the new formula will either. I just prefer the natural look of nails as I don't always find the time to do a proper manicure. I always get in a hurry and start doing something before the polish has dried properly and end up smudging the polish. I will occasionally take one of those white nail pencils and run under the tips of my nails to get the French Manicure look. That's kinda pretty also, especially with the natural shine that the NGF gives to the nail.
