Subject: BBW Wax on, Wax off
Message: My daughter bought this product at Bath and Body Works. It's a parafin treatment for the hands. I have it here and I'm wondering if it is safe to use with bare nails? I have no idea how parafin works and would like to try it, but don't want to mess up the nails!

Message: Should be great, Moi. My mother had one of those parrafin machines where you heat up the wax. Her PT recommended she use it as well. Should feel great. Can't imagine wax would hurt the nails in the least.

Message: Hmmm. I remember seeing presentations of those things on the Q...and I recall them saying it would be good for your manicure! I say Go For it...nothing ventured ..nothing gained. I will however plead the 5th..if your nails break off!

Message: Years ago when I lived in L.A. and would sometimes splurge on a
facial, they always included the paraffin treatment for the hands.
I had healthy nails back then and the paraffin never hurt in any
way. A friend's mother bought a big home kit to dip her hands
into the hot wax to help alleviate the pain of rheumatoid
arthritis, so perhaps it could be a nice soothing treatment and
have some healthy benefits, too. Let us know what you think.

Message: This particular product comes in a little jar and looks all the world like cold cream/noxema. You just rub it on, let it dry for 5 minutes, the rub it off. I'll give it a try tomorrow and let you all know what it does.
And Denise, if my nails break off I'm comin' for you ;)

Message: moi,
two things you cannot take away from me are my NGF and my paraffin wax "dunking"! no wax treatment,in any form, has ever done bad things to my nails. sliding your hands into the melted wax feels too good sometimes. i highly recommend it for anybody with aches and pains in their hands or their feet. well worth the money spent and i don't believe they cost that much.

Message: I have one of the parafin spas and I leave it on my bathroom counter all the time. I definately use it more in the winter than in the summer - especially when I am having a bad rheumatiod day. I have even done my feet - talk about relaxing.
