Subject: Concealing a Nail Mole
Message: Hello,
I have a very unfortunate condition known as a
"nail mole" where a regular mole grows from
the base of the nail matrix and adversely
colours the nail plate. The result is unsightly
graphite coloured vertical lines running from
one end of the nail to the other.
On one of my middle fingers, these lines are
prominent and comprise nearly half my nail;
two of which are 2 mm across. Consequently,
this causes that particular fingernail to literally
stick out just like a sore thumb, especially
when my hand is held away at a distance. To
compound matters, I agreed to a nail biopsy
which effectively disfigured the same finger
nail on its far right.
Being male, I can't say that I have ever posed
any great concern on the upkeep of my nails.
However, this tragic development has
interfered considerably with my life. Hands are
one of the things that get the most exposure
when interacting with others and my
discoloured nail attracts far too much
attention. Holding onto a support bar on a
subway for instance can elict the disgust from
other passengers who notice it. The same
applies for my use of the keyboard or handling
of a computer mouse at work.
While the doctor, who is a highly trained nail/
skin surgeon), claimed that eventually these
lines will disappear, he neglected to mention
that moles have an average lifespan of 50
years. This means that I will be 70 by the time
these lines begin to fade, far too long for it to
matter anymore.
Not being familiar with anything associated
with nail care, I was wondering if any of the
board regulars here can suggest products
with which I could possibly disguise the
pigmented lines on my nail. Obviously,
coloured nail polish/paint is out of the
question here. Does anything exist which
closely mimics the peach-like colour of
ordinary nails?
Thanks, and sorry for the long post.

Message: YES! There is a "polish" that gives a natural look. It's used by acrylic wearers to create an "unpolished" look. It's sort of a clear red color, and is used on the bed area of the nail.
I also suggest you get the Revive10 Nail Cream, Revive10 Nail Strengthener with Aloe, and the Revive10 Leather Buffer. These products are very affordable and THEY WORK to give your natural nails a healthy appearance.
Nobody is perfect, and your nail mole may not go away, but the "overall" healthy appearance of your nails(all 10 of them) will overshadow the blimish on your single nail--your special gift from God maybe? It's all in how you look at it.
