Subject: Oily Skin #2

Message:
Lori - the clear powder does not make my face/skin tight. It is really amazing stuff. I put it on after my moisturizer and before my primer. I just use it in the T-zone though - forehead, nose area and chin - those are my greasy/oily areas.

Cheryl - I know we should be thankful for our oily skin, and I really try - some days are harder than others.

I have the LG blotting powder too and I carry it in my makup bag in my purse - I think I have used it once since I bought it about 6 - 8 months ago - maybe it can be a candidate for the box.....lol

It's been a long day ladies - chat with ya tomorrow.

Cheryl OMG I can so relate to you.I will wake up at night and get up and wash my face because the oil is in my eyes...then I will wake up in the morning and have to wash again becasue my face is so oily and it is in my eyes.I keep reading that you need a moisturizer even if you are oily because if you do not it it will make your oil glands produce more...but it just seems like a terrible cycle to me!I also am acne prone and have to be careful of what I use becasue it will break me out...WHAAA normal skin would be nice.

sg,
oh my lord, would it ever be nice! i used to look over at my mom rubbing tears away from her eyes and it's from the oil getting into her eyes and stinging! i think back how many times over my lifetime i saw, and see, her do this! i'm screwed!! i don't even own a moisturizer. putting one on this skin is just not the answer! i think it's another load of crap the make-up conglomerates want us to buy into. why can't it just be simple? on another note, where do you hail from in tennessee? born and spent my first 10 years there.

born in nashville, then we moved out to the suburbs, brentwood, before the "country music" crowd came in and made it the place to be and way too expensive! my parents always regretted leaving and moving back to Mississippi, but i believe there is a reason for everything!

Small world Huh?I saw that you poseted about foundation right?
I saw a post on the Q BB about a makeup line called CoverFX..it is suppose to cover anything and is oil free. They were saying it is not heavy like Dermablend and is the next hot line for 2006.
I did check out their site and it is for acne/oily skin..looks very interesting...maybe the perfect foundation for us oily gals yet.

I have used Mary Kay since I was 30 and swear by it. They have a product that is called Blemish Control Toner. If you use too much of this product, it dries your skin out to the point that it becomes scaly. Have you ever tried something like this?

Hey Lorraine I tried Mary Kay back in 1992 and really was not impressed with the products for the price but I have heard that their oily/acne skin care line is really good now.I have thought about trying it again.

Lori & Lorraine,
i probably have used the same ingredients, just in a different product. i've used the pro-activ line for about five years now with benzoyl peroxide and salicylic acid ingredients and i think my skin is just becoming "too used" to the products. doesn't seem to help my skin so much anymore.
i don't need so much trying to cover everything as i do finding something to "soak" up the oil that shows up all day. i can wear sheer because my skin tone is pretty normal. i don't have redness or rosaccea. just shiny, oily, that slides off about 2 hours into it!

They also have an oil mattifier which you can apply during the day over your makeup to remove the shine.
