Subject: Hi gals- I'm new here!
Message: Hi all! Deb tells me you ladies are a lot of fun & I am SOOOOO excited about being in the Round Robin! Yay! My name is Tina & I live in Crystal Lake, IL, near Chicago. I have been a UA flight attendant for 16 years, but am now on a medical leave and going to give my hand-made jewelry business a shot. I'm married, have an 11-year-old DD & I LOVE beauty talk!!! (I actually once dreamed of being a pro MU artist, but ended up in the 'sky' instead.) Looking forward to getting to know each of you! ;-) Sky

Message: Tina - welcome. You will like it here. My hubby saw me gathering up some stuff when I got home from work for the box, he got this look on his face. I said don't worry dear, just making some free shelf space. I thought he would pee his pants he laughed so hard.

Message: Hi Tina,
You are so very welcome here, and we are glad you are joining our little Beauty Box venture. More is indeed merrier!
Oh dear Deb, don't give the poor dear a heart attack! I am bringing all sorts of other little goodies to go in the box so it will start off pretty well stocked, I hope. I love White Rain products so I am sending some of that. Plus several other hair cair products too. Going to feed the better half now and take a sleeping pill since we are leaving here at 5:30am! That is the time I usually make my way into the bed! OH DEAR!
See you for coffee Deb.....Gosh I am hyped for this!

Message: hi tina,
wonderful to have you on board! what type of jewelry do you make? my husband has been a pilot for delta for 17 years, so we've both flown the friendly skies, he much, much more than i! i wouldn't know what to do with a positive space seat!! it's been an adventure at times.
these are some real ladies here. we seem to have all found a common thread-our nails-and built so many more common interests around it.

Message: Hi Tina!!!! It's so nice to have another friendly face on the boards. How did you 'meet' deb? Are you a Q poster? Since you'll have the box before me, be sure you put some good stuff in there ;) I'm already going through my things, pulling out samples, etc., to include with the box when it comes my way. Now, I have a ???. I get free things from the market sometimes. Vitamins, all kinds of stuff like that. Cat treats, dog treats, etc. Those all add up to a llot of weight so I won't throw those in, but what about the things like vitamins? Should I yes, or should I no, include those?

Message: I like the idea of the flat-rate Priority Mail box. Vitamins are okay with me. I guess we should figure out a way, though, to monitor the freshness of the contents of the box. Maybe we could all just check things out each time & toss whatever looks 'funky'.
As for my jewelry, I have been making all kinds of beaded stuff for 11 years, started adding some wire-working to some of the pieces about 4 years ago, and now am just getting started with a full-on silversmithing shop. DH set me up in my own lil corner of the basement with a fabulous workbench (recycled- it was in our 1867 Victorian when we bought it!) I have tools, a torch, etc.
I will be teaching myself to solder & work silver, bronze & brass. I would love to work in gold one day when I can afford to... My stuff is a little eclectic & Bohemian so far. It's not your QVC-type stuff! I'll bet one day all of us gals will meet, & when we get together, I will bring some goodies for Show & Tell, okay? Till then, I'll let you know when I get my butt in gear to get a website up & running. (I'm kinda low-tech!)
Anyway, thanks for the warm welcome- can't wait to see the 'box'! Sky (Tina)

Message: Yes Moi,I don't mind if you want to throw in vitamins.
OT here but when my hubby turned 60 I made him up a bag of old folks goodies:
corn pads
mylanta
geratol (sp?)
and of course some centrum silver vitamins, plus everything I could find that had to do with geriatrics!
He really fell out on that one.
Social Security is a good thing! {right?}

Message: Sky,
We write websites, just FYI
http://www.redwheeler.com
We wrote this site too. We are about to begin upgrading the look and I am going to add a page at the prompting of Lynnie, "POST ACRYLIC RECOVERY"
Right now we are in the middle of writing 2 new sites so things are hopping around here!
Send me some pics of your jewelry if you can. That would be interesting. You can always throw in a dozen bracelets for us to share. We could wear them for a month, show them off, recommend them to everyone that asks, give them your information, then put the bracelets back in the box and pick a new one next time round! LOLOLOL! Sounds good to me!

Message: Welcome aboard, Tina! Please, fasten your seatbelt. Hahaha I would love to see your jewelry! I love eclectic jewelry and always hit up the arts shows. If you haven't got time for a website now, you should upload some photos into albums somewhere like Photobucket, Ofoto or Yahoo. A girlfriend of mine started doing this about 5 years ago and loves it. She's also branched off in to wire work and glass.
Barb - I'm so flattered you want to use that idea! You know there are many of us here that can give you fodder for that page!
