Subject: thanks moi and lynnie
Message: I just wanted to say thank you Moi and Lynnie for your advice as it is hard to get practical advice for my problem. I tried the website for Acquarella polish and have sent them an email asking again if they have a product that looks like real nails....maybe promising.
Im in Australia so Im not sure if I can find a local mob that does the same thing but Im happy to pay extra to get products shipped from America.
Once again thank you for your advice. If you can think of anything else let me know...cheers Tony

Message: tony,
i've thought about your nail problem quite a few times today and i just have a feeling that any polish you find, is going to look, well, like polish on your nails. i still stick with my original advice of buffing them. when i say buff, i don't mean to a "high shine". there are 4 sided buffers that are numbered and you can skip the last "high shine" side. it will help with the discoloration you talked about. i would then use vitamin e oil or the formula from this site. i just don't know that polish is the answer. just my opinion.

Message: Tony, what Cheryl says sounds reasonable to me. How thick is the nail? If you were to buff off a couple layers of the nail, would it look better? Now, I have started seeing some matte polishes as well. Do you think a clear matte would look better on the nail after buffing it?
Keep us posted!

Message: Tony! As long as you don't have fungal infection and it doesn't hurt to cover the nails with polish, I think I found a great product for you. Go to www.Sephora.com and search for Lippmann Ridge Filler. This one looks beige, fills ridges and dries matte! It just may do it all with one product instead of your having to combine products. Sephora is one of my favorite stomping grounds for products and I'm sure they will ship to you. If you were to find there isn't enough coverage to even out your nails, you could buy a cheap base coat for french manicures by Sally Hansen, then apply this ridge filler over.
A few of us here are "product junkies" and I'm in good company. We always get our product! Hope this helps.

Message: Cheryl, I hadn't really thought about that either. I searched for matte polishes and came up with that one. What I liked about that Lippman product is that Tony might have some pitting and ridges as well so it might even those out as well as cover. If one coat isn't enough coverage, he might even get better results with 2 coats. You probably did some nail psoriasis reasearch like I did. I didn't really see anything that to contra-indicate the use of polish. In fact, because he plays guitar, the added strength might help him in case his nails are flaky or proned to peel. If he picks, even moreso. I've heard that some guitarists even opt to apply an acrylic thumb nail for picking.
