Subject: Jill and Joy and everyone
Message: Where are you lovely ladies? I haven't seen you posting lately and I wanted to check up on you.
Jilly, I know you're really struggling with health issues right now, and I want you to know you're still in my prayers.
Joyful, I know you have your struggles too and are also in my prayers. I want you both to know that we love you ladies and think of you often!
And to the rest of the ladies here, I want to say thank you for being here and being my friends. Of all the things I am most thankful for in this past year, you all rank right up there at the top!

Message: Moi and friends,
It is so kind of you to worry about those of us who have not
been posting. Yes, my health has been deteriorating. I saw the
neurologist this week and just got back from my out-of-town
trip to see the Lyme doctor. I've developed such serious central
nervous system problems in addition to (or maybe triggered by)
the Lyme and other tick-borne diseases that I was finally put on
anti-seizure medication to try to sleep (even though these are
not officially seizures). My poor elderly parents are exhausted
and worried since I have been staying with them these past few
weeks because I'm frightened.
I will soon have to begin either Intravenous or Intramuscular
antibiotics since the oral antibiotics have not helped my nerve
burning pain enough from the Lyme and the doctor doesn't want
it to lead to permanent nerve damage (and, perhaps, a
wheelchair...and we don't want to have to start two wheels
funds!)
In all the stress, I've chewed off all my nails, but that's a minor
point right now. I took a few weeks off of work, but considering
I've had no income, I must start working again, health concerns
or not.
Joy, how are you? I don't wish to hog the forum for my issues
because each of us is dealing with so much. I haven't read the
boards for a few days because I was overwhelmed with doctors'
appointments. But when I do read them (even when I don't post)
it cheers me up immensely. What a Godsend each of you has
been!
Thank you for your prayers, as always. I pray all the time for
myself and for you and others who are going through more than
their share of challenges these days. The encouraging thing
today at my Lyme doctor's appointment was running into
another patient who I've seen repeatedly these past couple of
years and she had been so horribly ill without improvement, yet
today she was like a new person. So improvement can happen!
I will keep you informed of any changes.

Message: Jill,
I am so very sorry for all you are going through. This is devastating to even hear about.
My prayers will now include your parents. I can only imagine their terror with all of this. Please let them know that we love you and pray for your speedy and complete recovery from this disease.
Love and prayers to you and your entire family. We have missed you around here. (dreadfully!)

Message: Barbara and everyone,
Thank you for your prayers. I apologize for dumping such a
depressing message into the oasis of friendship and joy that is
your forum. I turn to the forum for inspiration, education and
laughs, and now upon re-reading my message, it is such a
downer! This teaches me to post right after a doctor's
appointment when obviously I was feeling completely
overwhelmed and fatigued. But I do thank you so much for not
only thinking of me, but my parents. It means the world to me!

Message: Jill, I use another forum of longtime friends. We dump EVERYTHING on each other and it is a wonderful safety net to have. You spare the people around you when you unload at a place like this among people who care and don't cast any judgments. I feel horribly for you, but what I feel is NOTHING compared to what you are living. And, who knows, someone with obscure symptoms could read some of your posts and find a new avenue to pursue with their doctor that could lead them to a diagnosis.
I'm glad you got to see someone yesterday who has improved greatly and I wish the same for you. ((Gentle hugs))
