Subject: help needed
Message: i am a beauty therapist/ nail tech. i have been doing acrylic for about 2 years and still havent perfected it. it takes me ages to do full sets and refills (2 hrs!)and my nails are too thick and lift a fair bit. i rough the nail with a 180 file (ithink)dehydrate with opi, prime twice with beautiful nails extra strenght and use perma nail liquid and powder. i feel like i am not impoving and cant seem to work out the consistency of my acrylic mix. they are either too thin or thick. which both result in lifting...any advice on what im doing wrong???

Message: Hi Laura,
I think you have been pointed in the wrong direction. What you are doing is in direct opposition to what I am doing here. I am promoting the opposite end of the spectrum. I am hoping to see the demise of the fake nail industry. And I am not trying to be mean spirited here. I hope you will rethink your options and begin to learn how to care for, and nurture natural nails, NOT destroy them. From all I am seeing and hearing, the general population is finally comeing to their senses and the trend is turning away from the thick, ugly, fake nails. The medical industry is putting out mandates to their professionals, that the topical treatments are to ALL be removed due to the spread of bacteria harbored there. So before you spend all of your time, effort, and money on a dying industry, I hope you will find someone willing to teach you how to become a manicurist so you can take care of those poor souls that have been fooled into the destruction of their own natural nails.

Message: Laura - there have to be boards out there where techs exchange this sort of info. Actually, if I went to school for this, I'd be calling one of my former teachers for pointers. Good luck. As for this site, we're all about nekkid nails!
