Message: sherreen,
you have to soak them in acetone remover. put some in a glass bowl, then set that bowl over into a plastic bowl to "warm" it up. it may take as long as 20+ minutes per nail. gently scrape the melted acrylic off, but know that it starts hardening up as soon as you remove it from the acetone. work quickly and do one at a time. some gentle buffing of the surface of the acrylic and cutting them down as short as possible will help too. when your done use cuticle oil and moisturize with lotion that contains shea butter. your cuticles and what's left of the nail bed are going to be dehydrated.

Message: the plastic bowl that you set the glass bowl of acetone in should have warm water in it. just enough to warm up the acetone. i left that out.

Message: Where can you buy acetone besides a nail salon or beauty supply store? Does walmart or target sell it?

Message: If you don't have a beauty supply, you can look for polish remover that contains acetone. Good luck on getting rid of the acrylics.

Message: Good luck, Shereen - it's a project, for sure! Like everyone said here, keep moisturizing them afterwards.
