Subject: Jewelery Cleaner
Message: I am wondering if anyone can recommend a good home made cleaning solution for my diamonique wedding band? It's the one I wear everyday and it's looking a little dull. I have used the toothpaste/soft bristle toothbrush idea (my ring hasn't had a cavity in ages) but I was wondering if there were any other ideas?

Message: Add some baking soda and rinse off the residue with white vinegar. Then just rinse the ring in warm water. BLING, BLING!

Message: Moi, lot of people using Windex as jewelry cleaner. Say it makes stones really sparkle, but I haven't tried it personally, since I have new supply of some cleaner from the Q. Did you take the ring to the dentist for its check-up??? Have to be sure about these things ya know. :)

Message: Moi - I've resorted to Windex lately and my jeweler recommends it. I've also used Greased Lightning when I'm dealing with serious gunk. I keep a small brush that you'd use for gums and pockets under my kitchen sink.
margo - hehe, that reminds me I have the Connoiseur's ultrasonic cleaner from Q from years ago when I would make a project of cleaning jewelry. That machine lives down cellar on the weird, unloved appliance shelf!

Message: Thanks for those suggestions. I was thinking back to a steam cleaner they had on one time. It was a couple hundred dollars I think, though can't recall for sure. I was thinking about cranking up my pressure cooker and holding the ring over the steam. We have this neat pair of needle nosed pliers that would hold it perfectly well and I wouldn't get my own little self steam cleaned!
