Subject: Ladies...Dont wash dishes!
Message: Hi Gals! Back from NY...that flight is such a drag! I had a great Christmas..and I hope all of you did as well! What I learned from this trip is I should never do dishes! After a week of Not doing any my nails are looking even Spiffier then they were prior to my trip! Now...I am kinda thinking I wont easily get away without submerging my glorious ten into that steel hole in my kitchen...so I may have to go get a pair of rubber gloves! Thats just my thought for the day!

Message: Welcome home stranger!
I will concur with your findings. Probably dish washing was invented by a man! I say we all just scurry through the forests and pick our food and sit there and leisurely relax while partaking of the fruits of our labor. And enjoy our nails!

Message: Denise, while I like Barbara's answer a lot more, I will say that once I finally actually started using rubber gloves when I do dishes or clean with chemicals, it made all the difference in my nails. Now I won't touch them without putting the gloves on. I found some really comfortable ones at Costco that I like.

Message: All the year's I was growing up my mom's answer to a scratch, sliver, bruise or bump was, "Do The Dishes! Use Hot Water!" lol
In a way she was right, but now I always wear gloves (she NEVER had them in her kitchen), and I put on the NGF before I start my chore . . . a little intensive treatment as I'm working!!!

Message: Denise! I couldn't agree more and always suspected as much when I came home from a vacation with great looking nails that actually grew. What I use (when I think of it) are the disposable rubber surgeon's gloves you get in the pharmacy. They are thinner and less clunky than the playtex. And they are small so I just hang them over the edge of my dish drainer. A pair will last about a week.
Welcome back! Glad you had such a nice holiday.

Message: Lynnie,
Watch out for the drying effects of the talc they sometimes use in those gloves! Just a little reminder. My mum was a nurse and that was a really big problem for her...Thank God she was not allergic to the latex or the talc. But highly irritating and drying with her poor little piggies stuck in them for so many hours every single day of the week.

Message: Thanks for mentioning that, Barbara! I have issues with talc sometimes. I rinse my hands and lotion up right after I take the gloves off. It IS drying and irritating, but way less damaging than a load of dishes!
