Subject: OH SO MANY ARE FOOLED!
Message: received this email with a close up photo of blistered cuticles and inflamed rims of the nails. Pittiful! Thought I would share this and hope she will come into the bunch and get honest information.
"Hi. I have been looking online for information about this problem I am having but seem to be reaching a lot of dead ends and thought maybe you could help me. I just recently developed this allergy over the past year or so; the same day and for about 72 hours after I get a fill, the tips of my fingers, my cuticles and under my nails get very itchy, dry, and sometimes blistered (see picture--I got a fill yesterday). And if I decide to take off my nails altogether, the cuticle gets dry and falls of and doesn't grow back for months. I always ask the girl doing my nails to be very careful when applying the primer but I still get the allergic reaction. I've put up with it for a year now, and I'm tired of it. There aren't really salons in my area where I can talk to the manicurist and she can offer me solutions. Is there anything I can do other than just asking them to be careful with the primer so this doesn't happen?? I'm not really sure what gels are and if anywhere by me offers that...
Anyway--your help would be greatly appreciated. Hope you had a merry Christmas!! :-)
Sincerely,
MONICA "

Message: Never heard another word from her. The photo was painful to even look at. I mean they were blistered and inflamed to the point....well it is difficult at best, to describe just how painful they appeared to be in the photo.

Message: I hope Monica will at least go to a dermatologist, not a
manicurist, for a professional opinion. I would think that any
dermatologist would take one look at an allergic reaction like
that and say to stop getting acrylics immediately!
