Who is this Brandon? He is entertaining! Is he some kind of make up god guru? They all seem to be into him over there.....He is new the that board isn't he, or have I just spaced out and missed his posts all this time.!? OK, don't answer the *spaced out* part! We all know that is a given.

Good morning! Brandon is apparently a make up artist who used to post on the HSN boards. He got fed up with them and moved over to QVC. He can certainly be snarky. Not sure I'm down with that. Some of the women are definitely over the top about him. Jury is still out for me. =)

I agree, Shay. Not sure that Brandon is the end all, be all of makeup/beauty the way they make him out to be. Kind of sick the way they ooooh and aaaah over him over there.

Oh, surely you gest, Barb. You don't know who Brandon is? Why, the ladies say he's only one the THE hottest MUA's (make up artists - learned that from one of his threads) in Atlanta. Just recently he had to jet off to a photoshoot to help his famous photographer friend who got sick. He was gone for 3 days. Thank goodness he posted a message announcing his return.
Do I sound snippant? Golly gosh I sure don't mean to!

I'm with ya, Deb! I thought it was interesting that one of the posters said we would accept that kind of behavior (the snarkiness) from a man, but not from a woman. I kind of thought she was off base, but didn't know much about Brandon or his posts. Then low and behold, to his snarky comments someone replies with "oh, honey, just click the ignore user button." You know a woman would have been torn to shreds for saying the same thing.

My daughter came up this morning to go have lunch with me and I was asking her if she had ever heard of Brandon. You see, she is an up and coming model. She graduated from Barbizon School of Modeling in Feb 05. In July 05, she and I spent a week in Manhattan at the IMTA convention. She has done several photo shoots with several modeling agencies in the Atlanta area. She actually has a pending deal with HOP Model management. She is working on new comp cards and is working on a new music video. I thought it was funny when she said she had never heard of him. Now, don't get me wrong - Atlanta is a big, ole city. But, by the way they go gaa-gaa over him - you'd think he would have his own star on Peachtree Tree Street.......lol

Someone has asked him exactly where he works. I'm anxious to find out. He's got such a following, I find it very amusing. From what people posted, he and his roadies rather dominated the HSN boards and a lot of people didn't like it at all. I hope they don't do that at Q. Despite our NGF problems, it's a great place to get information.

Since I've only been checking in with the Q boards sporadically
these days, I too had caught a little of the Brandon fuss but
didn't know the whole story. Now perhaps he has great
credentials, but personally, some of the most arrogant people
I've met have been the so-called top make-up artists who are
flown in for special events at spas and salons. I put up with
those a couple of times when I lived in L.A. and New York just to
see if I could learn some good tips for applying makeup and
choosing colors. But based on my experiences, they were all
attitude and did not come up with many recommendations that I
felt were terribly worthwhile. I came across that prima donna
attitude a lot back when I wrote and produced TV commercials.
Now that's not to say they are all like that. Personally I love
watching Holly from Smashbox on QVC because she is so
pleasant as well as informative. But I think I have a very low
threshold for attitude these days!

This is just my humble opinion, from the things he touts in his posts. He is a "recovering" addict of either drugs or alcohol or may be both. I think he may be gay, but that is not intended as a slam or insult, and I think now that he is addiction free he believes he is a *bit*/far superior to his underlings/following! Does this add up to you? I am not trying to insult him, that is just the way I sort of see him, and his "attitude" regarding the general demeanor of the posts. Atlanta has a very high population of the gay and lesbian community. So that my be a publication geared toward that community, though that is merely a "wild" guess too, so if all of this is totally untrue, I am sorry if I have offended someone.
