Subject: someone new from Q
Message: I just wanted to say thank you to Deb and Shay! You just sent a customer our way from the Q boards. She said you told here where to find us. Thank you both for your comments and your support. I just popped over there and read the question and comments. By the way, What is Burts Bees? and does Olive Oil really condition the cuticle?

Message: I have heard that cuticles soaked in warmed Olive Oil is good, but I personally have never tried it. Burt's Bees is another line of "beauty" products. I've tried a few of them and the only one I really like is the lip balm. It's a line that is all natural - made from stuff from the kitchen and garden - I think that's statement on their website. Go to www.burtsbees.com and have a look. Like I said, I've only tried a few. My daughters like it and I have some in their stocking!!

Message: Good! I hope she reads around here for more tips as well. The olive oil thing is good. Some people soak once per week as a regimen. I did that while waiting for my NGF to arrive. Now I don't need to!
I'm not nuts about Burts Bees products. The lip balm made mine chapped. And I object to some of the smells of the other products. They could almost smell rancid to me.

Message: I am going to the grocery store in a bit. Should I pick up a perticular brand of Oilve Oil for this little experiment?

Message: Barb, I am glad Deb and Shay got info across on the Q(been reading the thread)....last time there was a long thread along this line, I sang the praises of NGF! Also posted where to get it and that post was deleted!! Later in same thread some ladies here said same thing an they left it! Oh well, some things never make sense. Oh, some of the Burt's Bees products can be found at Cracker Barrel bought some of the lip balm and lotions there.

Message: Thanks Margo....They don't seem to *like* me much over there. I really do enjoy the wealth of information provided by that site. It is great to have a place to find out from actual users of products, just how the products perform.

Message: Hi! Burts Bees is one of the products I used while searching for the Holy Grail of nail care items. It was okay but I found myself using it on my lips instead of my cuticles because it just didn't do it for me.
Welcome, Simplicity (I went over there and read that thread too... very good information and great thread) I hope you'll love the product as much as I do!
Barb, it's not that Q doesn't like you, it's just they can't get to know you because they can't understand you with that heavy accent. You know, they DO offer classes on accent reduction and control. :)

Message: I, too, used the Burt's Bees lemon cuticle cream before finding
NGF. It was one of the more emollient products I had tried on my
cuticles and I suppose worked better than most of the previous
nail/cuticle products that were ineffective. But like Lynnie said,
many of their products have strong fragrances and what I
considered unpleasant scents. But I'm highly sensitive to many
scents and even allergic to many perfumes, so I'm probably not
the best person to criticize odors. I've often found that some of
the natural products in health food stores actually have quite
pungent aromas - I prefer fragrance-free when I can get it.
I never used olive oil on my cuticles, but not long ago had either
a bad reaction to a face care product or just some weird
sensitivity to my medication. My face became so sensitive that
the only thing I could use as a moisturizer was straight olive oil.
Did I ever smell like an Italian deli! Fortunately, I was slowly
transition back to regular products. But I suppose the olive oil
was a good moisturizer, just a big greasy and aromatic!
