Message: I'm not sure, but shouldn't the salon technicians be trained in using this and know when to use it?
I honestly don't know much about it but would certainly think there should be instructions for usage.
Anyone else have any ideas?

Message: I have a paraffin wax spa. I am not sure as for professional use, but I would feel that it would be one of the last steps in the manicure/pedicure so that the wax treatment would seal in lotions etc. - before the polish. I don't polish my nails, but I use mine in the winter about once a week. I use a product called One Step Manicure, then I use my hand lotion and then I do my paraffin "bath". Again, I am not a 'profession', this is just my personal opinion. Unless being a professional beauty junkie counts!!!!

Message: UUUHHHH! VOODOO!
Like so much else beauty wise, of this I know not. May be Cheryl will jump in here in a bit. After all she is either sipping cocoa, looking at the snow, or she is blowing snow from the driveway.
HEY CHERYL, stop having so much fun and help here! please......

Message: no snow blowing yet! i've had it done on my hands and i believe i remember them doing it after they filed and "pushed" the cuticles back, but before they put polish on, because, some made sure the nails were clean from the oils in the parafin, some didn't! polish will just "slide" right off if you don't!! it's been a while though. i'd much rather just do my own, at home, on my strong, bare, shiny nails now.

Message: My parents live about an hour and a half from me and 2 of their neighbors' water pipes broke from the freeze they had a couple days ago. My dad, having lived thru too many Louisiana ice storms, knew to insulate the pipes, manifolds, joints and fittings, so they are okay.
Isn't it funny how just that short distance, about 70 miles, can make such a difference? I mean, we have arctic conditions here too, but not so bad our pipes break! :::knock on wood:::

Message: Yes Moi, Even 10 miles will do the trick with an Alberta Clipper cutting in! We just heard from David. He said that Kansas City was a spin out zone last night.....Now there is a horrid thought.
I will take my beach sand, even when it is too cold to go bare footin'!

Message: I've been working at a SPA for 6 years, and had 2 years of training, and you always apply parraffin treatment befor you polish (after massage)
I suggest using clear plastic bags to pour wax in, then have them place hands or feet inside. This way you avoid any cross-contamination.
