Subject: beauty junkies unite 3
Message: my mom has always been a merle norman wearer. i'm sorry, but it just is an, how do i say this, older ladies line. me and my nanny used to stay in her bathroom and go through all her potions and lotions when i was little. i am so much like her now in that respect. i really do try to take good care of my skin. she had the face of a 50 year old when she died in her late seventies. i go with the theory that less is more.

Message: My grand mum used the Merel Norman products too! I get exactly what you are saying.
My almost 60 year old weather worn face is showing the effects of a lifetime of sun and wind and sand and sea. But my cuts healed fast because of all of that salt water. And I never scarred, not once.

Message: My daughter used to laugh at me because when I wore Merle Norman I would put it on, then rub it off until it looked natural and you could barely see it.
Now, with BE it's not that big of a deal. You can do so much with it. I love it!

Message: Hello, fellow junkies! Gee I missed alot here today. You started without me.
Deb - I started that thread on Q called the Reject Drawer. That's where my Flocker lives. Thank you for the kind offer anyway. Hey, I bet you could kill mosquitos with it!
Cheryl and Moi - I used to work downtown in my 20's and loved a trip to Merle Norman on lunch hour. There was some sort of whipped foundation of theirs I liked, but I agree, even that one was heavy. They are gone in my area, but I'm sure there are diehard fans of the older generation. Gosh, I remember some of the heavier stuff we used years ago like Max Factor Panstick makeup. I bet morticians still use that one.
I'm also loving Philosophy Purity and will never use another cleanser, unless they improve on that one. I'm trying to use up alot of products before I go over the deep end and get a Dr. D kit of some sorts because I have a funny feeling that might be a line I'd stick with.
I think someday we should pack up all our minerals and kabuki's and head for Vidalia for makeover day!

Message: Well Lynnie come on down.......You can all have a shot at trying out your beauty treatments, ugly remedies, make up make overs on me! That would be fun! Bring your Airstreams and hook up out side. We have 5+ acres of parking on the place, but loving German Shepherds is a prerequisite!

Message: You can add my flocker to the reject drawer, too! As much as
most of the other Nick Chavez products have worked well for
me, that stuff is just sticky goo in my opinion. Maybe someone
in my neighborhood would like it to flock their Christmas tree!
Thanks for the reminder to try BE foundation with the kabuki
brush for better coverage. I had read that and have been
meaning to try it. I had to grab my basic makeup bag when I
vacated while the workmen are there, but I'll get my kabuki
brush when I go back home.
My makeup lasts forever these days because I now only wear it
when I have client meetings or important social gatherings. Now
that I work out of my home office rather than being part of the
corporate world, I don't have to dress up every day. So I
probably should have ordered through the colorful sprinkles
seller on ebay because my BE will last decades at this point! And
some are too glittery for me, so I will definitely try samples first
from now on.
Thanks for all the good tips!

Message: BE is the ONE makeup brand I don't mind letting my daughter wear. She fought acne for a long time, she is 15 (on the 21st) and I let her use it to get all dolled up for Halloween. I have lot's of glittery colors, gossamer being my favorite. I wear it when I want to shimmer. A lot in the summertime and when I'm going to be outside, I put a light dusting of it in my hair. I also have brushed it lightly on the backs of my hands just for fun!

Message: i like gossamer too. i don't know why the foundation just suddenly started leaving me so shiny. mineral veil still works wonderfully though. clear radiance is a favorite too. i think it's a wonderful make-up for a young lady to start with. i started using pro-activ about 5 years ago for my breakouts and it has always been so dependable.

Message: cheryl,
I too have found myself relying more on the mineral veil, but I use tinted mineral veil. Clear radiance and rose radiance are my favorites in those tones.
You know what I LOVE to do? I dip my clear lip gloss or my buzz latte into whichever color I am using as my blush and use it as my lip color. I don't like heavy lip colors on me, so this is perfect! Just a hint of color and it's a perfect match to my blush color. I love making my products do double duty.
If you decide to try out colorfulsprinkles, I don't think you'll be disappointed!

Message: Agreed on the mineral veil! That is the one BE product I probably like most. It really is the icing on the cake. I read an interesting thing on the Q board. I like the tinted veil. The recipe for that is 1 part Warmth to 3 parts plain mineral veil. I have a couple little jars of the plain and feel like a ghost in it, so I'm going to mix.
Cheryl, I switched to Philosophy airbrushed because of the sparkle factor. I use my BE Warmth, Glee, etc., to highlight it. I pass things down to my 23-year-old daughter who had an issue with adult acne this year. She won't use anything ut BE now.

Message: I used the philosopy Complete Me mineral makeup before I found BE. I thought they had discontinued the Complete Me, but they just changed the name and the delivery system. I now comes in the same kind of jar w/sponge applicator that the airbrushed foundation comes in. I am tempted to try it, but I have sooooo much BE, I guess I should wait.
The Buzz latte is my 23 year old daughters absolute favorite. Clear Radiance used to be my favorite until I tried Rose Radiance. I mix a little with my tinted Mineral Veil for that finishing touch.
I just received my BIG Gossamer and Brush that was the One Time Only. I love it. I read on the other board that if you like shimmer, you can use the gossamer and mix a little with your matte shadows and other shades to give it that little sparkle.
As for the Flocker - oh well. I guess I will go through all my "stuff" this weekend and drop off a box at our local women's shelter. I have several things that I will NEVER use. How about the Rulinea FX from SSC. I found it to be totally useless. If you want it, let me know and I will send it to you - other wise - it's gonna be donated.
