Subject: Denise - what is Arbonne?
Message: I'm curious to know what it is and what it does. I know it's a spa type product, but each product touts something different. I've heard good things about Arbonne and would love your input.

Message: Moi - if my memory serves me correctly I believe this is a swiss skin care company. You can go to their website, which is quite informative. They offer color, nutrition and aromatherapy.

Message: Thanks, deb... I'll check it out! I'm always fascinated by the seemingly unending flow of skin care products, makeup lines (I use BE) hair care, etc. I love to read about them and find out why they think theirs is best. LOL
I had purchased a bottle of Paves shampoo when it was on sale at Walgreens. I love their little blurb about being sorry, but they could not remove greasy casserole from your hair. LOL
:::sighs::: guess ya had to be there ;)

Message: Yep - beauty product junkie here, so I can totally relate. I love my BE and I am a total philosophy "girl". My husband saw me posting about the WHINE and he asked me what that stood for. Once I explained it, he said "oh, so you're a WHINEr". Yep, guess so!!! He is really cooperative though, he lets me try the scrubs, peels, etc. on him, too.
I have heard alot about Paves and coincidently, they are building a Walgreens right on the corner next to where we live.

Message: Philosophy is one of those products that sound devine to me! Everyone raves about the shower gels. I don't know about bathing in something that smells so good I would want to eat it though. LOL
Maybe someday I'll feel able to endulge.
WHINE, isn't that one of the skin care items?
HIAJ (Hope In A Jar) and WHINE (When Hope Is Not Enough), do they work together or is one a stronger version of the other?

Message: HIAJ - is a great every day moisturizer. WHINE is an excellent night time moisturizer. They absolutely can be used in tandem. Philosophy is an awesome line. If and when you decide to try it you will not be disappointed. I have lots of the shower gels, and WHEN I can talk myself into parting with them - they make great gifts! :o)
I have been using philosophy for about 3 years and it has made a huge difference in my skin. I may not think I have "make up optional" skin - but lots of people tell me I do. All I know, it has really helped my rosacea. People used to think that my face was always sun-burned - not anymore!!!

Message: Have you tried the Alpha Hydrox products? I use the souffle daily and the peel weekly. The dark circles have really diminished and the little lines also.
I use Oil of Olay moistuizers.

Message: I haven't tried the AH - but have certainly been tempted after reading all the info on the boards regarding the success that some have had with this line.
I have certaily been tempted by the new and improved OoO, as well. I just cannot get past the fact that they test their products on animals.

Message: Moi,
I also started using the Paves hair care recently based on all the
raves on the other board, particularly the posts from Shopping
Val. I bought them during a buy-one-get-one-free promotion at
Walgreens. Even though my hair does really well with the Nick
Chavez products (in fact, I didn't like my hair until I started using
his products), my hair color fades so quickly in the So.Cal. sun
that I thought the sulfate-free Paves might help that. My
hairdresser said it's worth trying sulfate-free although she
recommended some salon brand I hadn't heard of. It will be
interesting to see if the Paves really makes a difference. Of
course I'll still keep alternating with my other lines because I've
stocked up on just about every Nick Chavez TSV ever offered.
For skin care, I rotate among several lines because I'm always
looking for something that agrees with my dry, sensitive skin. I
like Philosophy, Clientele (very expensive, I only stock up during
special offers), Reclaim, etc, but once I finish up, I am tempted
to go back to Clinique. That's what I used years ago and they've
finally come out with the Repairwear line and other products that
are more geared to anti-aging. I've read the raves about Alpha
Hydrox but am so worried that it might be too harsh for my
skin. If I try it, I'll have to do a patch test first. And like you and
Deb, I've been using BE for quite awhile, although I never get the
coverage that others seem to get.
The Philosophy shower gels make great gifts - I gave baskets
filled with them to my doctor's nurse and secretary and they
couldn't thank me enough.

Message: Hey, Jill! I didn't know you were over yonder on the Q. I'm "fidget" and as much a product junkie as you and Deb. It's funny you mentioned Clinique Repairware because I bought the foundation today. I kind of like the dewy look/feeling for a change as I've been using minerals a good long time. My skin was quickly starting to feel parched from the cold temps here in NY. I love Nick Chavez too and am hooked on his strengthening line. It really seems to protect from the heat damage. I have the same type skin as you and Philosophy Purity and WHINE night cream have become staples here.
Deb - they are building a Walgreen's on the corner near me too! Every day when I'm driving I note the progress and I'm drooling. Today the green doors were up. A very good sign!

Message: Hi Lynnie,
Over on the Q boards, I'm GemJill. I was active on the boards for
a few months, now not as active on either those or this boards
while I'm not feeling well, but I do try to at least pick up some
beauty product and other hints by reading the boards even if I'm
not posting.
Thanks for your opinion of Repairwear so far. As I said, I've got
to use up the products I have because I'm way overstocked. But
Clinique is definitely on the top of my list for when I need to
replenish moisturizers, eye cream, etc. I like the ease of BE but
I'm not sure if it's too drying for my already dry skin. I'll probably
stick with Philosophy for a cleanser.
Isn't it funny how we are always seeking the next new beauty
product? No matter what climate each of us is in, there's always
a challenge. When I lived in New York for a few years, the cold
temperatures, wind and indoor heating took its toll on my skin.
But in Southern California, the constant sun is a challenge,
despite using sunblock year-round. So it's always something!
Take care,
Jill
