Message: A couple of nights ago, when I was having trouble sleeping, I tuned into the Q to just have some company. Sheila was doing a Dimonique show and there were a lot of close ups of her hands. She does have acrylics, which look very nice, but her cuticles looked horrible. They were very dry looking and it looked like she may have just had a fill and the tech nicked a couple of her cuticles. I think she must have had either a bronzer on her hands or she had self tanner on because the cuticles were yellow and ragged looking and as I said very dry and unattractive. I could not appreciate the rings she was showing because my eyes were drawn to those poor cuticles of hers. She definitely needs some of Barb's NGF.

Message: yeah, all those chemicals involved in making that acrylic ball just suck all the moisture out of the surrounding skin. another reason to run screaming from them! too bad they can't just be content with their own.

Message: The sad part is that so many think they are the height of glamour! What they are, is the basic prescription for disaster, the death of the natural nails and cuticles. It is really sad that most people are so willing of just look at the venire on everything, and never see the ugly hidden beneath. Having a positive outlook is one thing, but blissful ignorance is totally another. It would save a lot of hurt, time, money and effort to just call a spade a spade. If you don't like the truth then just go in another direction. It is always better to know where one honestly stands than to be planted on shifting sand among shiftless people! OK off the soap box. The stage is your again! LOL

Message: One very late night a few months ago I was watching Q and saw the hostess, Carolyn (Caroline?) presenting jewelery. Her nails were a mess. Her french manicure was chipped... and I mean chipped. No little dings.. chipped. And when they did a closeup and you could see the underside of her nails you could see where the natural nail stopped and the acrylic started beyond the natural nail and it was so dirty!!! :(
Those of us who have worn acrylics know what I am talking about.
It's tough keeping acrylics looking 'good' and clean underneath but if you're going to be doing something with such closeup shots of your hands you better try harder than she did that night.
I don't know, maybe she was a last minute replacement for someone else that night? I'll sure hope so!
