Subject: Jealous Toenails
Message: Do any of you use your NGF on your toenails? When it comes to them, I'm a polish junkie in Summer, especially because I have a couple that are thicker. Plus, all the continual polish wear stains them. They can also be dry and "peely" on top. I've been using a product a few weeks called NonyX Nail Gel that is doing a good job of thinning them, clearing out any keratin under the nail and improving color. When I'm happy with that process, I'm thinking the buffing cream and a nightly rub of NGF could really shape them up.

Message: The winter months are just as brutal on those little piggies, so use the formula there too! Now is the time to NOT polish and allow the discolored nails to grow out and get a great "natural" start for beach toes. Polish that has a yellow #5 is usually the culprit for the *yellowing*! Buffing out the surface of the toe nails can do no harm either. You can work on them this winter, and by spring your toe nails should be in really great shape. What does the NonyX Nail Gel actually do? I have none of those issues but would be interested to find out how that helps.
Thanks, Lynnie, you have a wealth of information in there, so keep sharing. You and Cheryl both know things I have never even considered!

Message: That was my thinking too - now is the best time for a rest for the tonails so I can get back to my flashy pinks, reds and oranges in Summer! Here in NY, the trend is French tips and the gals actually have acrylics put on. I would never do that. Feet are such a fungus playground as it is.
Alot of drugstores sell the Nonyx. Supposedly it is podiatrist recommended. My nails were starting to look like my mother's toenails! lol Thickened toenails are a real pain in the toe if they become ingrown. After using this a few weeks, the color is pretty darned good. Ingredients are natural and don't stink like anti-fungals. Here is a site for info: http://www.xenna.com/product_nonyx.html
I think Cheryl and I are cut from the same cloth - NY researchers! More than happy to share!

Message: Lynnie, thanks for this information about NonyX Nail Gel...looked it up to find out more about it. Had problems with some toenails for years...older I get when I look at them all I see is "my grandmother's feet", not a good thing at all!! Anyway, this product sounds impressive so I ordered it to try. Thanks again.

Message: I know exactly you mean, Margo! Those ones next to the pink seem to be the first to go. And the thicker they get, the harder to trim. I call them old poodle nails. It's a worth a shot and better than what I was doing for them - nothing. Since you're doing NGF, it's easy to remember the Nonyx. Same time, different location. Good luck!

Message: Lynnie and all. Not familiar with the product Nonyx, but I transcribe for a VA facility and when I get a report from a podiatrist they always suggest the patient rub Vicks into their toenails daily. The first time I got this in a report I thought - WHAT!. Seems the Vicks helps to thin the toenails. I am always amazed when I come across reports where the doctors are going back to suggesting natural methods for contol of problems. I get a lot of reports suggesting gargling with warm salt water for sore throats. In the past they would prescribe a harsh antibiotic, even for mild sore throats, etc., but lately the trend seems to be leaning more toward the natural methods. It is really interesting how things have a way of circling around. Now, if the doctors would just lower their prices a bit it would be great.
I am loving the NGF. It is amazing the change I have noticed in my nails in just a week.

Message: Junie,
Isn't that something? Vicks. I would have never guessed it. I am going to tell my mother though because she is having a problem with her toenails thickening and becoming very dry looking. Her doctor told her it was due to poor circulation due to her smoking. My mom thinks he's just grasping at any excuse to get her to stop smoking. I said "look mom, if watching your mother, grandmother and aunt die of cancer doesn't make you stop, ugly toenails isn't going to do it." But, I digress.
I hope this will help her with her toenails. Thank you!

Message: Wow, June! Thank you for that tip. My Nonyxl will surely run out after it has hopefully done the initial trick. Then I'll try switching to Vicks to keep then thinner and soft. You know, maybe the eucalyptus has something to do with it???? After all, the ancients had all sorts of beauty products and medicines that were herbally based. We STILL use some of those ingredients in products today.
I started the NGF just a few days before you and my results are great so far too. I kicked it up a notch with the buffing cream yesterday and I see pink nail beds and little moons. Woo hoo! I feel like a girl!
