Subject: As you age - Part 2
Message: margo and Moi, (Moi already knows this - but I'll tell her again), I have family living in Bossier, and a BIL who works at Barksdale AFB. Been there to visit, and I like it, been to LaFayette, Baton Rouge and "the Big Easy" in it's better days. Hopefully it will go back to that way someday soon.

Message: We went to New Orleans about 10 years ago... what a treat! Such a different way of life. We drove around, went through some of the touristy areas where the old mansions are... if I could pick anytime in history to live... well, maybe not. They didn't have Air Conditioning, Internet or NGF. ;)

Message: Moi and Margo, I loved NO, and So. La. What fun we had, and the French Market was such a treat. Coffee and Beinget (sp.) at Cafe DuMonde!!!! What a beautiful city, and do I ever hope it can be restored.
In Shreveport (acutally Bossier City), my SIL and BIL live in an area by the bridge over the Red River, and my sil is the Parish school nurse for Bosier,Cado and another parish.

Message: Margo, it wouldn't suprise me to find out we are related, it seems EVERYONE in that area is!
My family has been there forever. In the early 1900's they were working the logging camps. Traveling constantly. Made it nigh unto impossible to track them down on the census reports!
Karen, we were in Farmerville visiting our family and drove down to NO for the SOLE purpose of going to the Hard Rock Cafe. Of course we stayed and did other stuff too ;)

Message: Hi Cheryl!
I collect the city pins and so does my daughter. Each HRC has a pin specific to their city. Someone started giving me HRC Pilsner glasses so I have a collection of those as well. Each city has their name on the glass.
It's so much fun, to see all the memorabilia in the different HRC's. It's also fun to watch my kids go looking at everything. "No, they DIDN'T wear that?!?" is one of the things I hear the most of. In Newport Beach, CA they have Elton Johns Platform shoes... I want to say they are red, but can't remember for sure. My kids laugh at that. Over the bar there is a car, can't remember the make or model, it's a convertible with a surfboard hanging out the back seat. A big sign says Pray For Surf. So much fun!!!
A few years ago, I think it was for my birthday, my friend and I drove from Los Angeles to San Francisco to have lunch at the HRC in SF. LOL It was a blast!
When we went to Lousiana many moons ago, we went through Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, and NO HRC's. At the time, San Antonio's Pin was a big Yellow Rose. Beautiful! Oh, my neighbor recently brought one back from Stockholm I think it was. It was a naked lady. Go figure?!
Anyway, as you can see I could go on for days about the different ones I've been to and the pins I have. It's such a peculiar thing because I am more a soft rock/classical music kinda gal but when I get into a HRC, I just.... can't explain it... it's like part of me peeks out for a short while and let's loose! Does that make sense? LOL
Thanks for asking... the memories have made me smile!

Message: Barbara this is really strange, all the reasons we have been drawn together. My FAVORITE BIL works for Rockwell Collins at the Barksdale AFB. He used to work for Boeing, who was in charge of the work he does for training B-52 pilots, but then the contract was "won" by Rockwell Collins. Just another thing to link us all together. Moi's family is from Monroe/Farmerville La, which is where this BIL hunts with friends and Denise I think) lives in Shreveport area, which is also where this BIL lives.
Barbara, I hope Cierra's feeling better tomorrow, and that she has a good night's sleep tonight. I hate to see little ones sick with a virus, they are so helpless and feel so awful. At least we can care for ourselves when we are this sick!!
Have a good night!!!
