My nails feel so sleek and have a nice sheen to them! I can't help but crow already. As I was already a good 75% grown out from acrylics, I won't mind having to file off any remaining weak edges because I think I'm going to like what's growing in behind them. Plus, I have my Wonderstone file to seal the deal.

Cheryl - So far I'm most impressed about how they are after washing dishes. They aren't all thin and transparent. I can still feel the oil in them. I'm sure you know what I mean!

Yep! Mine have just outgrown the fill ridges, which looked like the rings on a tree! So, yesterday I buffed them, sealed them with my file and am buffing away. Love they way they feel to the touch. But there is that period where you have to get past the fact that NO natural nail is going to be as pink and white-tipped as a fake. And after looking at the mangled nubs for a couple months, I'm just thrilled to have them to the quick and a little band of white tip.
I'm about as death now on acrylics as you and was even before I got to this forum. I might also add it sure is nice being able to put jewelry on again, as well as count change!

Lynnie!!! Congrats on reaching that phase in the grow out. For me it was a monumental moment!
Now, I want you to be aware that as your nails continue to grow you may have similar ridges pop up from tiem to time. I think it's due to nailbed damage from the filing itself. If this happens, be patient and don't get discouraged. I'm acrylic free for 7 months now and FINALLY those 'tree ring' humps and bumps have stopped appearing!!!!
Hopefully you will not go through this, but if you do, know you're not alone!

I know what you mean about those humps and bumps , or "the ripple effect", and it will be interesting to see if they keep appearing as they are pretty much gone now - but thanks for the warning! Like I've said before my tech was a cut above most. Always gentle and always looking carefully under the lights to see if anything was lifting or going wrong. I know, from years ago, about the serious lumps and humps from the trauma.
