Subject: Good Morning World
Message: Hi everyone. It's a late start for me! Slept in til 8:24 this morning. Boy that felt good too! I finally have one eye open so here I am.
Deb, I hope your evening was splindifforus! Those grands do make the world go round, don't they? Hope the "lesson" with the nail file helped, at least in some slight measure. Those things can feel clumsy when you first begin to use them. Once you get a handle on how they work though, you will not spend another penny on emery boards that just get ground down after two, or if it is a really good one, three uses.
Moi, if you are up an at 'um this morning, I just wanted to say, I hope you rested well.
Karen it sounds like your family was and is the kind of loving, encouragement every one needs to have the brightest future with the most fantastic memories.
I remember one Christmas when I was in my early teens, a neighbor was at our home. We were just finishing opening gifts and getting ready for our traditional hot chocolate with tons of those little marshmallows, and a slice of Mums home made, fresh toasted pound cake. So anywho! This neighbor knew of our hot chocolate with tons of those little marshmallows, and a slice of Mums home made, fresh toasted pound cake. This explains why he was visiting my brother so early on Christmas morning.
One of the last gifts I opened was of a personal nature. I was just beginning to fill out a bit so I received a new brazier. Johnny just blurted out, "I thought you were wearing falseys!" OMG! I was still in my winter jammies, I jumped up off the floor and chased him down the hallway out the door, around about 12 of our 17 acres, and when I caught him I stuffed the little bra right into his mouth and went back inside and didn't look at him for a week!
Now that is just a fond memory of childhood innocence and how simple and free we were back then. There are times I really wish we could go back to moments in our lives that conjure up fun, friendships, and the love of the family that gave us their all. But at the very least, I have tons of those beautiful, enchanted memories to draw from. That is just one of the most embarrassing yet funny times.

Message: Good morning Barbara, and all of the ladies here in this wonderful place. I love pound cake, homemade, and I would love some of that hot chocolate of your Mum's right now.
Yes Barbara, I had a wonderful family, and lots of fun. I'm sure the bra incident was so embarrassing at the time, but one you can laugh at now. Good for you for stuffing that bra in his mouth. Little did those boys realize that was a very embarrassing time for girls back then! I would have chased him too!!
I have one of those embarrassing moments to tell you too. Back in the '70s when we wore tight jeans (of course I was thinner then), I wore panty hose under them. My husband and I went to a movie on a Saturday night, and I came home and took my jeans and panty hose off all in one. The next morning I got up just it time to go to 7:30 Mass at the Friary at Siena College, here in Loudonville. It was very small, less than 35 people, very informal, and I decided to wear my jeans from the night before, wasn't awake fully, and went off to church. I got up to go to Communion, and I felt something dragging behind me. There were my panty hose, I forgot about, from the night before, dragging behind me, like a train on a wedding gown, only being held inside my pant leg bottom by a foot. The rest of the pantyhose was trailing behind me!! I was mortified, but now I think it's funny and though I would share it with you all, for a laugh!!
Have a nice day and a nice weekend!!! I'm sure we will be talking today and tomorrow, but I didn't want to forget to wish you all a good time.

Message: Oh my word Karen, I can picture that so vividly. And you're right. Those things are great laughter in our senior years. Were they not just "the best of times, and the worst of times!?"
I am going to share this on with Nanci. She will appreciate this one better than anyone I know, seeings how almost the same thing happen to her at Midnight Mass at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist on Christmas Eve so many years ago! I was pregnant with my daughter Faith, and she was so all about helping me, (MUMMY TUBS!) get to a seat without incident she failed to notice the toilet tissue stuck to the heel of her pumps! "Just decoration!" to said Father Cutty at the alter.
She is leaving to go to Holland in January. Her only child, a daughter just 5 years older than Faith, is in the last stages of her fight with cancer. The two of them are going to Italy for the month of February to make tons of memories. She will come home when it is done.....I so ache inside for her right now. Nanci is the role model for me as a Mum. She and Lauren have always been the guide for me to go by, on just HOW TO build a Mother-Daughter relationship in a modern world.

Message: Barbara, you may share this story with anyone you would like to. I hope this give your friend Nanci and her daughter a good laugh!!!
I'm sorry Nanci's daughter is so sick, and I wish there were something that could be done for her. I'm sure Nanci will have these wonderful memories of Italy with her "girl" and will have those times to cherish along with the life of memories they already have.
I will add Nancy and her daughter to my Rosary, and I pray that God sees fit to give them a miracle. I will keep them both in my prayers.

Message: Karen we would appreciate that. Actually God has been very good to them. And Nanci has had 39 years with this remarkable human being. I will pass that along to Nanci and let her know we are receiving the extra help!

Message: Mornin All --- What sweet stories! Thank you for sharing. Karen - I can totally relate to the pantyhose and jeans scene. I've done that but have caught myself before leaving the house. But I'm known for leaving my fly open on a regular basis and my kids are unmerciful about that!
Barbara - I'm so sorry about your friend Nanci. She will be needing to lean on you, I'm sure, and I know you'll be there for her.
Now, ladies, I have a tree begging to be decorated, eventhough I'm HOOKED on this forum. Maybe you could yell at me if I am sitting here Christmas Eve with an undecorated tree and nice nails?

You could at least give it a try. At least when you pass out the gifts, do so with a flourish!

Message: Hey, Barbara! I was about to send you an email to THANK YOU for my goodies. I picked up my mail before going to pick my son up from play practice at school. Of course I had a ten minute wait in the car, so I ripped open that package and did my first treatment! Now, I have decided that jar is traveling in my purse for all that carpooling. I came home then and sealed the deal with my file. I'm ready to rock and roll!
