Subject: Oprah and Dave
Message: Gee, I thought she looked lovely last night and I was impressed by the entire exchange between them and the amount of time and thought Dave devoted to her.
But - I couldn't help but look at her nails after the conversation here yesterday. They were bare - and just waiting for her new product!

Message: Good morning all my NGF cuties!
Hey Lynnie, I missed it! :o( But I am glad she looked good. Oprah would be a prime candidate for the product, she hasn't worn acrylics in years, and from what I can tell, her nails always look bare, no polish at all. I vaguely remember her on her show talking about not wanting to wear acylics anymore. She's been au naturelle ever since.
Anyhoo hope everyone's day is getting off to a wonderful start...

Message: Wasn't she glam! And even she mentioned the thing about Dave mellowing after Harrys birth. So anywho! She is going to Africa, so she probably will not even receive the package for months, if ever. Sorry girls. We gave it a shot! But last nights viewing was all I had hoped it would be. Plus some!

Message: Joy - it wouldn't surprise me if you could eventually catch a clip of it on Oprah.com. Plus, you know Dave will be rerunning that one. What cracked me up was Dave saying his mother was even watching the show instead of Leno.
Barbara - See, you didn't imagine his softening up since Harry's birth. I didn't catch WHEN she's leaving for Africa, but like you said before, maybe Gail will pretest it for her. In this age of terrorism, it wouldn't surprise me if gifts of this sort go to a lab first!

Message: Lynnie,
I thought of that! what if they think I am trying to poison her? My God, that is not the headline I was hoping for! LOLOLOL
She is leaving NY going to, (I forget!) then straight away to Africa. She is building a girls school for business there. I think she said she is hoping to get some leaders from among them that will take the country into a new era. I am over simplifying, and paraphrasing on that, but that is what I took away form the things she said! I think she is probably THE best role model there is out there today. She lives what she says. She gives of herself, not just her money. I am certain, she is always having to check her purse strings because most people think money will cure all ills. Granted, money makes dreams become a reality, but my dad always said. Don't just throw a meal at them and tell them you have done your part. Give them a hoe and teach them to tend to the garden. Then you can say you've done your part.
I think the pay it forward method is the real answer.
It's like, if President Bush would MAKE the insurance companies take care of the obligations in the hurricane area, the problem would most certainly diminish to something manageable in the very least. Those people all paid their premiums! Well Pay for the Damages, and quit with excuses why the money should remain in the money market account! HELL-OOOOO!

Message: No, poisoning would NOT be good for business! Plus, we'd be chatting with you from your machine on Death Row.
I agree about her humanitarianism. I also like Dr. Phil's approach too because you can tell he really invests of himself personally. When he does those shows helping kids that have grown up and raised their younger siblings despite horrible homelives, the tears stream down my face!

Message: Its no wonder Oprah presented Dr. Phil to America in such a big way. Love that mans honesty, and straight talk! If you don't want to hear the truth you had best not ask Dr. Phil.
Yes, he and Oprah are my favorite daytime stars. They do get personally invested. Did you see Dr Phil yesterday? OMG that poor woman was in so much agony over her son. Thank God he was a willing participant in his recovery. He's not a bad boy, just used poor judgment. But what does a 16 year old know! (EVERYTHING! thats the problem!)

Message: They have become my afternoon friends as well. I have a little dog and when I say, "time for Dr. Phil", she jumps on the couch and waits for me. "We" love his common sense as well. Isn't it something that society would have to be retaught common sense?
Oh, that poor mother yesterday. She was just softhearted, loving and in denial. He was an affectionate boy, though, not angry. Did you notice that he was patting his mother's back as she was crying? I'm sure he will do fine. The best point to yesterday's show was that it CAN happen in healthy homes as well.

Message: I sure wish I had seen that show with Dr. Phil yesterday. Wish my mother had seen it!
Thing is, I'm always afraid to turn on talk shows anymore because of what the content might be. Or just the subject matter. With my kids in and out all day I feel I need to be careful. At the same time I'm sure I'm missing some excellent programming so I really ought to check it out.
