Subject: Tips for Hands #3

Message:
My mom gave me a product for my birthday in November called One Minute Manicure, maybe One Step Manicure. Anyway, it's awesome. It's like a scrub/exfoliator for your hands. I use it once a week - usually Sunday night. It has shea butter, natural beeswax and lemon oil in it. There may be more ingredients, but those are what I remember off the top of my head.

Welcome to the new posters. Jill, Joy and Moi - thanks for all the updates. Barbara, thanks for the info @ the Mayo website - interesting reading to say the least. Cheryl, stay warm up there. It's quite chilly here today in the "sunny south", so I can only imagine what it's like "up" there. BRRRRRRRRR

Hi Deb
Tell me more about this "One Minute Manicure, maybe One Step Manicure." Who is the manufacturer and does it smooth the hands surface from that flaking winter skin?

Barbara, you will have to wait until I get home - for the life of me, I can't remember who it is made by. My mom is excellent at finding stuff that nobody else even thinks of. She gives the greatest gifts. But then, she knows that I am a skin care/make up/beauty product junkie. I have told her I want it every year for my birthday. LOL

Yes, it does make my hands "as smooth as a baby's butt" and then I apply lotion and my skin just seems to drink it in. It really is a great product - smells really lemony.

"One Minute Manicure" is manufactured by a company called Sweet Spa. This product also has a website: http://oneminutemanicureonline.com

It does smooth the hands' surfaces, according to reviews I have read. I've never tried this product before, but I have a similar product called "Manicure in a Minute" by Sally Hansen. It works just as well as the One Minute Manicure, but it costs less.

Not trying to discourage you guys from trying the product, but if you have some left over body or face scrub, you can use it too! I actually use a little of my microdermabrasion cream on my hands when I do my face in the shower.

Okay - just got off the phone with my Mom and the one I have is made by Surgeon's Skin. I looked it up on the internet and the website is www.jamarklabs.com/jamarklabs/10306.html - I think I got all of it down right.

I copies the ingredient list while I was there and it is:
Ingredients: Sea Salt, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Simmonsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Beeswax, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Citrus Medicia Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Butylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Fragrance

I really do like it. It's $15.99 on the website for a 4 oz tub. I got mine in November and have used it weekly - it just takes a small amount - maybe 1/2 teaspoon, if that much - I have barely made a dent in the jar.

Oh - and it's called One Step Manicure. I knew that was in there somewhere. And I agree Joy, I always give my hands a good exfoliation when I do my Gingerbread man scrub in the shower. Nothing goes to waste....lol

i too, have a hand scrub i use from crabtree & evelyn called, Gardeners Hand Recovery. sounds a lot like the same ingredients. a little goes a long way and i still have the first tube even after using it for a few years now. after using it, lotion just sinks right in. i guess exfoliating skin is the same all over, whether it's the face or the hands. getting rid of dry, dead skin cells brings up new and fresh everytime-no matter where.

Hey deb, do you like that gingerbread man scrub? I've seen mixed reviews...does it smell like gingerbread or ginger ale? I want a set to treat myself, a couple Christmas sets around the web...and I am out of body scrub...

Hey Debodel is that what QVC carries? I think I saw a presentation on the morning show over the summer as a summer surprise...I thought about getting it and then it sold out.
My hands get so dry and peel in the winter..do you think this would be too much for them?

One of the ladies over on the Q has posted a homemade facial scrub. It has salt and honey in it, maybe more stuff but the ladies who use it swear by it. I would imagine it would work as a hand and body scrub.

Also, I wanted to mention for those of us out here who are nursing acrylic damaged nails, I tried using the NGF buffing cream with the buffer and even used a light touch but it was too much for me right now. HOWEVER, I did discover if I rub it in with my finger, I have more control over it and it works great! I also used it on my cuticles and that area just below the nail/cuticle. So I s'pose it's a version of a scrub too. :::sighs::: multi-tasking products. Gotta love em!
