Moi - I meant to tell you that I notice that the age spots on my hands all evened out from use unloved AHA products as well. Good point. I don't consider my hands an attract aspect, thanks to Mom's knuckles and veins, but the pampering has improved them and makes me miss the acrilics less. Alot of people rely on the acrylics to detract from unattractive hands, I think.

If you think of your nails as jewels at the tip of the fingers, then one must consider the general appearance of the hands over all.
A lot of those in the advertising business are users of the NGF. Nurses also make up a large part of the loyal customer base for this product.
And in that same vein, the hands being one of the most obvious signs of aging so is the neck area. Have you ever tried that product on the neck to see what results you achieve?
And Cheryl can claw away now that she has those lovely nails. The morning news can read:

Thanks, ladies, for a sunny, funny way to start my day - I'm
definitely needing it today.
Thanks to Lynnie, Moi and all for the excellent suggestion to use
AHA products on the hands. I've developed more sun spots than
I'd like on my hands (yes, I use sunblock religiously, but in
Southern California it's just hard to be protected all the time). I
do often use leftover or current facial creams on my hands just
because my skin is so dry everywhere and figure my hands
deserve the richest moisturizers possible. But I will start using
some AHAs on them and see if that helps.
Years ago I had tried some of the age spot products on a few
spots on my face with my dermatologist's blessing. They didn't
help me and I later read from very reputable scientific and
medical sources that hydroquinone can contain mercury. That's
not to say that all hydroquinone products do, but I guess it has
been detected in some. Well, with all the health problems I have,
I'm already trying to keep any toxicities out of my body or being
absorbed by the skin. Anyway, the AHAs sound like a good plan
to me.
And Cheryl, you look mah-ve-lous for 104!

Love your headlines, Barbara, but don't off yourself. The notoriety would be good business if you live to tell the horrifying tale. And that is so true about our necks. We don't think to carry our face products down there till we spot that first sign of chicken neck under the chin! I've been recycling my acid products on my neck lately as well. Gets rid of any sun rings you have leftover from Summer.
Cheryl - you would be a Southern Tier neighbor. I'm North, about 10 minutes away from Lake Ontario. Fredonia can be a hopping little college town, can't it? I attended SUNY Alfred back in the 70's, also near the border. We'll have to compare lake effect snow! Blech!

You will see and feel an almost overnight difference in your hands if you use the exfoliation products. That isn't to say you can't use a moisturizer over that too, once it has absorbed.
You're right about hydroquonine possibly containing mercury. These are the bleaching products from a line my derm office sells. Check out the ingredients. Supposedly they are natural and all marine botanicals. I just started using the nighttime one, so we shall see in time. And I wouldn't pay those prices. I bought mine on Ebay.

Those age spots are so darned stubborn. I have one on a cheek and one on my forehead. It seems like I could spend all Winter fading them, then they are back after 10 minutes in sun, even with sunscreen.

yes, you are correct. nice to see some folks know the difference between a "south town" resident and the "southern tier"! sorry everyone, just a little western NY humor-you'd have to live here! the southtowns-suburbs-if you will, of buffalo, get all the weather coverage when 3 feet of snow falls at once. three feet for us is just a drop in the bucket! yes, SUNY@Fredonia can be a hopping place when school is in session. less so now, than back in the seventies. kids can't get away with as much now it seems. it will show up on the front page of the paper in a heartbeat! i'm about 4 miles from lake erie, so we will have to discuss lake effect when it hits-starting this weekend it looks like-and try and remember why it is we love living in it so-especially come april!!
