Subject: Are you supposed to push back cuticles?
Message: I am new to NGF and read that you are not supposed to cut the cuticles...
but can I push them back?
I usually just gently push them back with my nails.
Thanks!

Message: Angie,
pushing yes, no cutting. the cuticle is the barrier for germs entering the nails, and lets face it, our hands see a lot of germs every day! infections happen very easily when that barrier is broken. gently push them back with the pads of your fingers, not your nail, everytime you are in the shower or when you are using the NGF. our nails are sharp and we use more force than we realize when pushing. it's just so much easier when they are softer from the moisture of a shower or bath.

Message: Every time you apply the formula, use that time to push the cuticles back just as Cheryl explained. Think of your cuticles as little bumper guards. You don't want to do away with that protection, just keep it contained and supple.
