Message: Thanks Barbara, some of those pictures are pretty scary. I had never seen some of those conditions before.

Message: I'll bet some of the conditions that the Mayo Clinic sees would scare the bejeebers out of a lot of people. Just thought that little link would be another welcome addition to let others know they are not alone in the mess of nail tragedies! It could always be worse, UNFORTUNATELY!

Message: Thank you! Those were very graphic, but accurate. I couldn't help but notice that I probably experienced a NUMBER of those conditions when the acrylics came off! I had lifting ("only" halfway on some nails), pitting, horizontal indents from fill lines, and that darker band near the tip. Yikes!

Message: I have the nails with ridges in them. I have been really sick. They are called Beau's lines. I suppose you can't really do much about these. I don't think I should get fake nails either on top of my already sickly nails.

Message: rosarita, the NGF buffing cream does help the ridges disappear. Barbara can tell you so much more about it than I can, but I have used it, and you put a light coat on your nails, and use the buffer LIGHTLY (the cream has abrasives in it) and your nails look smooth and shiny and healthy. I have always had ridges too, and NGF is the only product that has ever worked on my nails, and though my nails are not long yet, they are healthy looking and so much more stronger and more substantial, not like tissue paper. And int he 6+ weekes I have used NGF faithfully, I have not had one chipped, cracked or peeling nail! That is a record, believe me, and especially with the cold weather being here in NY.

Message: Hi Rosarita,
I'm with Karen on this. I have ridges and the buffing cream really, really helps! I have to be really gentle and I only rub it in with my finger but there is an amazing difference in how diminished the ridges look!
