Subject: Crazy shoppers!

Message:
Did any of you see the news today? All those Shoppers rioting to buy things at wal-mart! I cant imagine going through all that to save some bucks! They actually had to call the police at several locations! I may just have to give the gift of beautiful nails to all my cousins..cause I refuse to participate in that madness!

Girl, I am with you. I used to be nuts about going to all of these after thanksgiving sales, now I just let all that stuff go. This year is tight for me financially anyway, so I am not getting caught up in any of the non-sense. This is not what Christmas is about anyway.

I've been in retail for 17 years and let me tell you, by the time Christmas comes, I am a Scrooge. Some years, I am so sick of it all, I don't even put up a tree. The extended shopping hours just burned me out. I'm part-time now so it's not as bad.

There is not enough money on earth to get me out in that. Besides that is just exactly what they, (they merchants) want us to do....
I just got back from David and Cierras house. He and Cierras Papa went to cut their tree today. So when they got back from the treefarm, I went over to help her decorate the tree. This is her first year going to pick and cut her own tree. Just before I left she very seriously said, "Finding the tree was the best part of my life!" That child makes my world rock!

Thanks goodness for small towns - no rioting here. The after-Thanksgiving Day sale has become a ritual for my daughters and I. This year we had the pleasure of bringing along a new daughter-in-law. We were up and out of the house by 3am - had breakfast at the Waffle House and then off to Wal-mart. I am amazed year after year how well organized our Wal-mart is. I even had a lady comment while we were waiting for the 5am que to "let the shopping begin" say that she traveled quite a ways to come to our Walm-mart because where she lives the Wal-mart is not so well operated.

We always make a day of it, shopping and eating, shopping and eating - by the end of the day, I think we got home about 4pm yesterday - I am done shopping for my entire Christmas list. Maybe a few stocking stuffers left to pick up - but that's it. Then, in a week or two (once we all recover) we will pitch in and fix a big meal, grab a bottle of wine or two and have this HUGE wrapping party.

It is a tradition that I hope they carry on with their own families. It has taught them to save their money - they save all year in anticipation for this day - no credit card debt to pay for in January. We have an awesome day together, just mom and her daughters (dad and the husbands get to bond with the kids as they all know they are designated babysitters that day). They have learned to make lists and shop responsibly, as they know going in how much they have to spend. It was a great day and it's a great way to work off all the food we at on Thanksgiving day!!!!

Well Deb,
In theory that.... "It was a great day and it's a great way to work off all the food we at on Thanksgiving day!!!!" You now need a day to walk off everything you enjoyed on the journey of shopping! LOLOLOLOL! Sounds like a really great tradition has been the established rule of thumb for whole household there in Atlanta. That's awesome! What area are you in? I used to love the Target Store that was up Indian Trail, I think is where it was. I may have been Pleasant Hill. Not sure which right now. But great deals, very clean store with actual room in the isles to maneuver around.
How many of you were there on you traditional excursion? Safety in numbers you know is also an added benefit there! Glad you are all safe and well.

We actually shop in the Peachtree City area, live in Newnan. It was myself, my 2 daughters, my daughter in law, my oldest's daughters best friend and one of my daughter's mother-in-law. True - there is safety in numbers and less trips home to unload the more vehicles you have......LOL

Hubby must have had a rough day too, as he is still sleeping in. Those grandkids care wear you out!!! Today for me is cleaning and organizing day. Not much of that has been done since Turkey day preparation began. I am also going to try to squeeze in a hair cut today. Have a great day ladies.

Imagine how many nails were broken during the riots!
If those people had only known about this product they could already be back on the road to healthy, beautiful nails! It's a shame I tell you. A cryin' shame!
