Subject: Picking, Picking, Picking
Message: Ok - is it the stress of the Monday Blues, the stress of the holidays coming on, the fact that winter is finally here - I have no clue. But today, I have picked the crap out of my cuticles. Now, I feel like I have to start over. I didn't even realize I had picked them that bad until I washed my make up off and my fingers burned just under the water. I would say 8 outta 10 are now bald again. That means scabs in a few days - won't that look great at the Thanksgiving table and in the photos. I am bummed.
I know that I have alot to be thankful for and hope this does not sound trivial.

Message: I have been having some minor setbacks, too, throughout my
three weeks on NGF. But I still feel like I'm further ahead than I
would have been without the NGF. At least my nails are now nice
and hydrated. So don't beat yourself up, just pat yourself on the
back for what you have accomplished and know that many of us
are in the same boat!

Message: Deb,
Amen to everything Jill just said! I had me a good old pickfest last night and this AM and lost 2 thumbnails. :(
We know you're thankful for all you do have and I didn't find it petty at all to be upset about your cuticles. You have been diligent about using the NGF and were seeing good results! That's something to be proud of. I was/am proud of myself for going almost 6 months without picking at my cuticles or nails and am disappointed that I caved in. Oh, well, we can both take a deep breath and start again tomorrow. Or better yet, tonight!

Message: 6 months without picking - glory be the day. I don't think I could ever go 6 months without picking ;o) Just kidding!
Thanks Jill, I do feel farther ahead than I was 21 days ago - my bald, naked cuticles are at least hydrated. ;o)
Oh well, onward and upward. Happy picking, I mean rubbing, rubbing yeah rubbing. Thanks ladies.
I am off to pop a bowl of popcorn for me and my little 5 year old grandson - he is spending the night.

Message: Hi Deb, Moi, and Jill,
You girls! You can all do this. You just have to not kick yourselves while you're down. Pick yourself up, brush yourself off, start all over again. Only this time you have friends that are dealing with the same things, and an answer to the problem.
Now don't forget....You have changed out that Picking, Picking, Picking for Rubbing, Rubbing, Rubbing.
So shall we begin.
dip and rub and rub and rub..
dip and rub and rub and rub..
dip and rub and rub and rub..
dip and rub and rub and rub..
dip and rub and rub and rub..
dip and rub and rub and rub..
Now isn't that better.
We can all get through this together. ALL OF IT!

Message: ladies,
went on vacation in september, on a cruise, with both sets of parents-ended up lugging a lot of bags around for our "elderly parents"-not really that old, but being the loving children john and i are we wanted to do the heavy stuff! lost all my nails on my right hand and actually started in on a few, biting, pulling, chewing, before i kicked myself in the butt and said, "woman, what are you doing"? it just seemed so easy to start right back up again. i, not for one day, stopped using the formula and doing that kept my cuticles hydrated. all i could think of was, "i can't come on here and give people advice and kick their rears if needed, if i can't do this myself". i got through the urge, which seems to be lurking underneath, and my nails are strong and healthy again. you guys are what pulled me through in the end. my word is nothing if i don't believe in my ability to conquer this bad habit that has been in my life for too long. i have days too, where it would be so easy to just start chewing away at anything, but i always come back to this site and the formula and all of you.

Message: I'm in a picking mood today too. I think it's the cooler weather and the gloomy days with no sun. I live in the Midwest, (Wisconsin). If my skin around my nails and cuticles were dehydrated, I know I would be really picking and biting but try as I might, I haven't been able to find a hang nail or rough cuticle. ;)

Message: Grace, isn't it nice to have beautiful cuticles?
Have you walked up to complete strangers, showed them your hands and said "look at these cuticles??" Well, me neither and I probably never will - but I don't have to hide my hands anymore!
