Subject: What's For Dinner?

Message:
It's 4pm, 81 degrees here in So Cal and WE are bbqing a tri-tip roast! Baked potatos and broccoli!
Looks like it will be another ThanksGiving with the air conditioner on! Maybe the kids can go swimming?

Moi,

Did you have to use as much sunblock as I did today? (I now
hear the groans of our friends across the country who are
freezing, shoveling snow and calling me names!!) Sorry, I just
had to say that. Yes, it's unbelievably hot here in Southern
California. But don't get jealous. First of all, there are many fires
raging now because of the hot winds. Secondly, I would really
like to wear my fall clothes already! And you've got to admit, it's
kind of weird celebrating the holidays, with decorations starting
to go up, and we're wearing t-shirts!

Moi, that dinner sounds yummy. Could you email me some?

Jill

Dinner was out - we ate at a new restaurant in town called Red Robin. The food was great - the service sucked!!

As for the weather, it's cold and raining here. I will have to say I like getting out my fall clothes. When we were in Hawaii a week ago, it was a little odd to be on the beach, look across the street and see a huge Santa on top of the mall. Don't know if I could get used to that.

deb, are you guys going to Riches tree lighting this year. Oh how I miss Atlanta!
My ex-brother in law was stationed in Pearl for 12 years. POOR THING! LOL
When they were transferred it was to Michigan! Talk about shocking the system. His poor wife had never been off the islands. She owned 2 light sweaters at that time. Needless to say his signing bonus went toward new wardrobe!

I think we will watch the lighting on TV - oh those crowds. Now that the kids are all grown, we tend to celebrate a little more quietly. Of course, we wouldn't miss the hustle and bustle of Christmas morn with those grandbabies.

We visited Pearl Harbor on Veteran's Day. I can't even explain the emotion, especially since we are both Marine Veterans. My sister and her husband were station at Kanoehe Bay for many years, of course, that is the other side of the island. I know, poor things. When they came back stateside, their kids were just excited to see a train. LOL

I ate at Red Robin several years ago. It's a chain out here in my neck of the woods. Gourmet Burgers? Anyway... As I recall I loved their fried clams!

Yep - gourmet burgers. I think the one that just opened here is the first one in the state of Georgia.

Very cool! I really like places like that because it's decent food for not a whole lotta $$$. We don't eat out much anymore cuz with 2 adults and 2 hungry kids it just costs too much. There's a Mexican food place out here called Don Jose that has reasonable prices, plus they send out BOGO coupons for birthdays and anniversarys. We like going there cuz you can feed a family of 4 for under $20.00! And the food is quite good!!
Did you happen to go to Hard Rock Cafe while you were in Hawaii? I collect their pins and pilsner glasses. Each location has a different glass and pin. My friend went to Hawaill about 5 years ago and brought some back for me. That was sweet of her.
