Subject: removing acrlic nails
Message: If anyone could please tell me what I need to buy to remove my acrilic nails at home I would GREATLY apreciate it. I have not gone to the place where I get my nails done to get them removed because I have heard about AT HOME products that can be used to sort-of "goo" off the nails..PLEASE e-mail and tell me what at home products I can use to remove my acrilic nails WITHOUT damaging or ripping my ACTUAL nails. Thank you SOO much!
Sincerely,
Giana

Message: Acetone, pure acetone is the best. search the topics in the forum about acrylic removal there has been plenty of great information posted previously.
Be careful. Don't just POP them off or PICK them off, you will destroy what ever may remain of your natural nails beneath!

Message: Hi Giana,
This is the method I used.Go to this post.

It takes a while so do it when you have the time to sit there. I listened to a book on tape to help me get through the ordeal. I did pry off 4 nails and when I saw how much of my own nail was coming off, I decided to use this method. The nails I pulled off took longer to heal, they were very thin and curled up at the tips. I did this in August and have faithfully used the Natural Growth Formula. My nails are looking great and so are my cuticles. I found that it's wise to keep them short after you remove the acrylics while they are getting stronger. I waited until they were healed and used the Buffing cream too and my nails shine and look like I have clear polish on them.

Message: Just a reminder if anyone uses this method, do not smoke or have lighted candles any where near where you are using the acetone. Someone on this board told us a very sad story about her aunt, I believe, who was going to light a candle and she got burned very badly.
