Basically it will depend on the condition of your nails. If they are really a mess and sensitive from silks or acrylics, give them time to gain some strength. Just use the growth formula for the full 30 days, 2X daily. Then begin a light buff about every 5 to 7 days. Your nails will let you know if you are applying too much pressure, so begin very gently with the buffing.
The sequence is up to you, once you are able to use the buffing cream. If you prefer buffing first and washing your hands good, then applying the formula it is entirely your choice. And as far as I go, I buff only about 3X monthly. Sometimes just twice. It really depends on the surface condition of my nails. A lot of times just buffing in the growth formula is sufficient.
