Subject: Tearing Cuticles
Message: Hi, Barbara!
I have been using the nail cream for about 3 weeks and I love it! However, I am still having a problem with tearing cuticles on the sides of my nails. (You know the pieces of hardened cuticles that pop up on the sides of nails and if you pull it, most of the time you end of with soreness). Does this make sense? What would you suggest to help alleviate this? Thanks!

Message: What ever you do, DON'T cut the cuticles. If you must, then clip those little hard edges with a good nail clipper and immediately apply some of the growth formula. Some times it takes a while to balance out the moisture in the tissues. If you want to, you can apply some vitamin e oil to the cuticles in addition to the formula. Nothing will inner act. And it may be that the extra nutrients will put them on a faster road to recovery.

Message: The interesting thing about this is that all my life I thought a hang nail was when the cuticle tore. Since I started taking better care of my nails I have gotten a couple of REAL hang nails.. the hard little bit of nail that hangs off the side (hence the name) The NGF is helping that tremendously! Thank you!

I always have the tendancy to pick at those cuticles until they tear, then I have a sore finger. I'll try not to cut them or pick at them.
Thanks, also, Moi!

Message: I'd like to add onto the comment about using a good nail clipper. Make sure it is CLEAN. I got a nice little infection that sent me to the doctor after clipping one of these. Owie! :-(

Message: Colleen,
Thanks for mentioning that. Several years ago my DD and I were going to the same nail salon and having the same person do our nails. Within a few days of each other, we both got a wart right along side our nail. Her's was her middle, mine was my thumb. I understood after that why women take their own tools in. Fortunately, I don't go anymore so no need to worry but you're right, even home tools should be cleaned often!!
