Subject: Question on white tips
Message: I've heard that using these products will eventually give "moons" at the nailbed and white tips. I'm noticing the moons starting to appear. But, when do the white tips start showing up? Is it only when the old, damaged nail is totally grown out? I've only been using the NGF for about a week and a half. I love the product and what it does for my horrible cuticles. But, I'm eagerly awaiting that white tipped french manicure look! Thanks for your products and a great board.

Message: Kelli,
Some nails are never white tipped! Mine were almost see through for years, but alas, I age! Now they are getting that white tip look. Shame though, that it all takes so long before it becomes "right". I guess we all need to breathe and be happy with the place we're at in life instead of complainig about the "thing" we don't have at this moment.....I am learning so much about patience in my old age! I wish I had had the patience to learn this when I was younger! LOL

Message: a week-and-a-half? it was 3 weeks before i saw anything at all, and another full month before i saw any white. your nails are damaged from the acrylic abuse. they don't repair themselves overnight, or in a week-and-a-half. you have to have patience and use the formula faithfully.

Message: Thank you, Cheryl. I guess I wasn't clear on what I was trying to find out. Does the cream make the tips you already have more white or do you have to wait for the entire old nail to grow out before the white tips appear? Thans again!

Message: Hi Kelli,
I noticed my nails just looked better, period. I think the tips do start to look whiter, perhaps because you're buffing off old, stained cells? I don't know for sure. Others can address this better than I can.

Message: Kelli,
my tips, when they started growing, were translucent for quite a while-months. the growth formula does not contain any whitening ingredients, but with faithful use, gives you an entire healthy, flexible, nail bed. i can't answer for everyone, since we all grow them diferently, but once i made my nail bed healthy my tips became whiter. it has taken almost a full year but is so worth the effort.

Message: Thanks to all of you! I'm starting to have more breakage. But, I guess it is all part of the process. But, for the first time, I have absolutely no desire to go back and get acrylics again. You are all so helpful and inspirational!

Message: You keep up the process, in the end, after all the frustration, you will wonder why you ever used acryics in the first place, knowing those beauties were on your fingertips the whole while, and shame on you! You just covered them up and drilled on them! BAD GIRL! BAD GIRL! :P
The desire to do anything but show them off is what you will accomplish! Have a great Monday!

Message: Kelli,
yeah, mine were in sad shape too after i melted the acrylic nightmare off. peeling, see-through,pitted, extremely sensitive-just nothing left. i wish i had taken pictures of them so i could do a before and after for myself. what was left of my nail beds was so sensitive i almost couldn't rub the formula in, but i did, every day, twice a day for 30 days. i now have healthy, pink, flexible, white tipped nails that i love. don't get me wrong, they aren't indestructible, but i know that when i lose one, and i do, i have the right product for growing out a healthy nail now. these nails are going to last a lifetime. with the acrylics, i knew i was doing something destructive to my nails and kind of felt like a "fraud" when people would compliment me on how nice they looked. i would say thank you and then say they weren't mine and probably look guilty! are they ever going to all be long and perfect at the same time? no. i don't care because i'm proud that they are all mine and i know what i started out with a year ago and how far they have come. have patience, use the product faithfully and you will see progress soon.
