Subject: Removed the Fakes
Message: I received my Growth Formula yesterday (thanks for such quick shipping !!) and worked on removing my fake nails last night. It's been three weeks since my last fill-in, so I could see some little half moons on a couple of my nails. I had gel fakes rather than acrylics and used the instructions found on this website to remove them. I worked for quite awhile, but I still see and feel a layer of "gel". I'm concerned that my salon used MMA, which I understand can be impossible to remove. I'm thinking that I will let them grow out from here. I am so glad to have found this website and gotten the nerve to remove my fake nails. I have had them for at least eight years and I'm looking forward to seeing my natural nails again. Thank you Barbara - and thanks to everyone who shares their experience with us "newbies" !!

Message: Bonnie,
if any liquid was used in conjunction with a powder, you did not get gels. MMA and it's "distant cousin monomers" are only used when applying acrylics. other than filing the layer off you might do better just leaving it alone for now. you can reclaim your nails again, i promise.

Message: Cheryl:
They use liquid, but no powder. The liquid (I guess the bonding agent) goes on then gel, then it's under the UV light for a few minutes. The drilling is same as acrylics. The bottle the liquid is in has no label (which now that I've read alot is pretty scary). The bonding/gel application might explain why I can't get everything off. I'm taking your advice and leaving well enough alone for now and hope the Growth Formula will help for a speedy recovery. Thanks for all the wisdom you share with everyone. Keep it coming !!

Message: Bonnie,
if you were able to melt any of it off with acetone remover then acrylic was involved at some point. gel does not come off with acetone. i just hate seeing people being lied to in these salons. not getting what they ask or paid for. use the growth formula as directed and you will have your nails back.

Message: I just hope that anyone who reads this forum will think twice about getting fake nails. I was so nervous about what I'd find (if anything) under them. Now that I see the damage that has been done, I'm sick about it. I consider it a lesson well learned and a long time coming. I'll let you know when I start to see progress. Thanks.
