Subject: Barbara- question for you
Message: Hi Barbara, Cheryl and other ladies!
I soaked my silks off last night and started using the NGF. My nails are sooo thin as we expected, but it feels great having them breathe.
I have always used "Healthy Hoof Intensive Protein Treatment" as a hand and foot cream. This won't interfere with the NGF will it? I'm using the NFG 2-3 times a day and use the Healthy Hoof as a hand lotion twice a day.
By the way, I started using the NGF 4 days ago even though I still had silks and my cuticles are fabulous!
Thanks :)
Jennifer

Message: Hi Jen,
YOU GO GIRL! I am so proud for you! And the answer is a definite "It is perfectly all right to use both products." The will not interact or react. So you are on your way. Excellent decision to begin the process of healing the cuticles. How did it go with the removal process. I hope it was not terribly painful.

Message: Great! I'm glad to hear I can keep using the other product.
Taking the silks off wasn't too painful, just time consuming! I had to soak in acetone for almost 40 minutes. I couldn't bear to rip them off, so I kept soaking and soaking and trying to gently file them off. My nails are now really transparent if that makes sense and a bit sensitive. When I was filing them (I used the stone file), they just started to disintegrate. I guess that's just because they're so thin.
Thanks again Barbara :)

Message: Jennifer,
i could see right through what was left of mine. i understand transparent all too well. your nail beds are very thin right now. even my fingertips were sensitive for a week or so. ripping them off would have been so much worse. you did the right thing by soaking and having patience. they really will recover. you've started the right way!
