Just found this site today and have to say nice work!
My question: Is there anyway to change the length of the nailbed?
History: I have a father that to this day bites his nails, and has them bitten back so far that it looks like the pads of his fingers have wrapped up around the ends where the nails should be. I was told as a child when I was also biting my nails that if I kept it up I'd have fingers like that too. I didn't listen until I was in my teens and gave it time for the nails to grow out. . . I'm uhhmmm 33 now and I still have short stubby nail beds. Will these ever grow out longer under my nails? At this time there's over 1/8 of an inch of nail that grows of nail tip before it reaches the tip of the finger.
Is there anything I can do to help promote that nailbed growth or is there nothing I can to to effect the length of the nailbed in a good or bad way at all?

you can promote healthy nail bed growth by keeping them moisturized. i don't think any of us really realize how dehydrated our nails become just as we go through our normal day. the natural nails growth formula found on this site is the best at keeping them hydrated and promoting nail growth, that i ve found after a lot of years of trying out stuff and wasting a lot of money. i bit mine unbelieveably and painfully short for 36 years. i didn't think i would ever see healthy, pink nail bed of any length, but i have them now. all those years of abuse really do take a toll and i learned to not expect miracles overnight, because it took a long time to get them that way. drinking milk, taking gelatin, supplements like biotin or vitamins promoting healthy hair and nails is just a huge waste of money. re-hydrate them, file them with a good quality file, treat them kindly and have patience. a lot of how fast they grow and how they grow is genetics, but just as much is how well treat them everyday.

I really do enjoy your posts, Cheryl. You seem to be a wealth of knowledge. I really like the ProStrong nailfile but for big jobs I need something else. That's about the only ProStrong product that I'd give you 2 cents for. Any suggestion of a good nailfile? Kim and Jocelyn, this Nail Growth Formula (NGF) will definitely hydrate your nails like Cheryl said. I'm finally finished looking for a product and wasting my money on those promises. This NGF is the magic potion!
