Subject: can you just grow out acrylics
Message: I feel really stupid, I did lots of research and wanted gels than at the store, I had a communication problem with the nail person and let him give me acrylics. Can I just let these things grow out - going back to have the stupid plastic tips "trimmed and filed" but not filling? At some point will I need to soak them off. Has anyone every let them just grow out?!

Message: you could let them grow out, but as the space between the acrylic and nail bed gets bigger-where they would normally do a fill-in, you stand a good chance of knocking it off, because it will become loose, and ripping your own nail with it. there is also a good chance water will become trapped down in between the nail bed and the acrylic and you will start growing green. just go ahead and soak them off. you are just going to waste a lot of time screwing around with repeated trips and wasted money if you keep going back. it will take a couple of hours to soak and then you will be done with it.
