I have been wearing the Kiss glue on nails for 15 years now. They only came off my nails long enough to put on another set. Recently I have developed blisters on my toes that the doctors took a culture of and it came back as staph. They are relating it to my fingernails. I would rip them off and reapply them. I really dont feel a great deal of pain in the nails anymore.I have taken them off for good...of course! but, I only have about half of a nail on every hand. The doctor has put me on a strong anti fungal cream and antibotics. Mt question is...will my nails ever grow back? I never had pretty nails before I started this but I am hoping to at least be able to grow a half normal looking nail. I miss my long pretty nails but I am not STUPID! the dr said he is surprized this was not worse that just the staph infection. I thought that was bad enough. If anyone has ever had anything like this..please let me know if your nails ever grew back? Thanks for any help!!

you are lucky, people die from staph infections eveyday. a very nasty germ. your nails will grow back, but it is going to take a while. fifteen years is a long time to subject the nail bed to that kind of abuse. moisturize them, take care of them and eventually you will have nails again. don't expect it overnight.

Just to let you know its been since Sept and I am happy to report my nails have grown out very nicely. I kept filing them a little a few times a week until they got even and quit splitting. Surprising enought they are pretty strong and longer than I have ever had them. I use Vitiman E oil on them twice a day. You were right..they have been extreamly dry. The thumbs were the most damaged and have been the hardest to get back but they are coming along nicely now. Thanks for the help and support!

My nails always split and that is why I had the acrylic nails. I took them off on December 6th and got the NGF on the 14th. I have not had one split in my nails since I started using the nail cream. To me, that says it all.

Congrats on your success, Anne! Those glue on nails look deceptively mild, but every time you peel them off, the glue can take a layer of nail with it. Plus, the instructions tell you to rough up the entire nail bed whenever you apply a new set.
