Subject: Welcome QVC Gals

Message:
Welcome to you QVC Gals who are considering this product.
I am posting this because I know many of us have used the same products available on QVC. So here is my story.
I was going in for an acrylic fill one day and it was sooo incredibly painful I was in tears. The manicurist offered to apply some kind of stuff to lessen the pain, but I knew that was only masking a bigger problem. I left the salon without my fill. Over the course of a week or so, I painfully removed my nails the stupid way. I picked them off. Even more ouch!
So, on the TSV, I had ordered ProStrong with biofusion. I had been wanting to try that anyway, and it was such a great deal that I had to do it. I noticed an improvement in the damaged nail. It's hard to explain, but it seemed harder and even though I know that wasn't the actual nail itself, it helped me through the grow out process.
Now, I wasn't satisfied with the condition of my cuticles after 3 months of ProStrong, so I started looking for something else. I tried a couple of Sally Hanson products, a cuticle oil and a cream. They were okay, but still not the results I wanted. I tried Burts Bee's, and again, okay but still not what I was looking for.
On the beauty board at QVC I saw someone posting their results about NGF so I checked it out.
I decided to give it a try in hopes it would live up to it's claim.
Well, by the next day my cuticles were already looking much better. By the end of a week, my fingertips, nails, cuticles, had a nice healthy pink to them. My cuticles have stopped tearing, they are nice and tight and they don't hurt!!
It's only been just over a week, so I can't make an honest statement one way or the other about my nail growth, but I will sure keep you posted!!! Now, remember, I had been using moisturizers for a few months, so my own cuticles may not have been as damaged as yours are. Each person is different. Please, if you get this product, give it time to work for you. There are no overnight miracle cures for years of neglect. I have learned that lesson myself!
Please feel free to post ANY and ALL questions you have here as well as the QVC beauty board. You'll likely get more NGF specific answers here, as this is where new and long time users post.

Hi Moi, I was one who read about NGF on the Q bb and came over here and read the info posted on the products and some of the stories here on the board. I ordered the set and started as soon as it arrived and glad I did.

My nails had finally gotten healthy after a long bout of recovery from having acrylics on them and then an alergic reaction that took almost a whole year to grow out and get over.

After coming here and reading about the system, especially about the buffing I thought mmm this sounds famialiar. Both of my parents were big buffers and took such good care of thier nails and hands as did I as a young woman but you know how it goes, you get caught up in the latest trends and poof you forget the basics.

Well I am back on the basics and doing well. I loved the shine I got with the products along with how nice my cuticles look, they look amazing!

I did go to the "nail shop" on Sunday and got a pedi, mani and brow wax. I almost didn't want to get the manicure, my nails were looking so good...but I got one anyhow. The nail tech was suprised at my nails thought I had clear coat on them! He automatically got the clipper out, I said no clipping and he was fine with that. Polish went on great and is staying great too! This never happens I am usually chipped the next day.

I have been applying the cream a few times a day and massaging the cuticles throughout the day and they look great!

So I am loving the products and using them is kind of a special bond with my parents who were right all along!

all the best,
mtee

Well Hello and welcome aboard....
Great "seeing" both of you here..If you want to learn about problems with fake nail, you have certainly come to the right spot. We get some real horror stories in here...This forum is not structured quite the way the Q forum is structured. You guys get it going all over the place over there. We are pretty much a Q&A for nails and this on going fake nail thing. Cheryl, one of my clients in NY, has probably the most practical experience and no nonsense approach I have seen come through here. If you start joining us you too will come to appreciate her wisdom in all things nail! See you both later and don't over shop on the Q....

I've been using the NGF for about 3-4 weeks and love it! I tried TIPS, ProStrong, Burt's Bees, Nail Tech, Jenny, and nothing worked. Now I see I was really missing moisture! Love that lanolin. After having my two children, I used Lansinoh while nursing and it was a miracle cream! Now I see that lanolin is a miracle cream for my nails, too. They are looking so great--no more pealing or splitting. Thanks Barbara! I heard about you on the QVC BB and am so grateful.

I read the post about this place from the Q in the begining of September, so I checked it out. I also ordered the ProStrong TSV. I really didn't see any changes and canceleld my auto ship. I have used TIPs and Sally Hansen without much change. Nothing seems to help my poor nails from splitting.

I already posted here I had acrylics from the salon (what a nightmare) too Oh, I remember the pain when I removed them. Now my nails break at the sides no matter how I file them or what products I use. I guess they are brittle. Even vitamins don't help. They'll grow, but split on the sides.

So, I finally ordered the NGF. I have been using it for approx 3 weeks now. Rignt now, all my nails broke and so they are short but the tips are white and they don't seem as brittle. My cuticles are getting better. I've had some hang nails, so I'll just wait and see how they are in another week. I am hoping to get them in some decent shape before the cold weather comes to NJ!

I'll be back in a week to post since it'll be a month since I've been using NGF.

Jean

Joyfulhart,
That is great to hear! You keep it up and you will be astonished with the nails that have been there all the time. They needed some stimulation and TLC. We look forward to your joining in and helping others reclaim their own Natural Nails. If you can answer some of the questions asked here, we would welcome your insight and helpful information.
Take care and be vigilant.

Jean,
You must be vigilant, and rub the formula into the cuticles as well as the surface of the nails. That will allow the cuticle soft tissue to become supple and plyable again. Don't cut them, just push them back with your fingertip while applying the Growth Formula. They will absolutely recover if you keep up the good work.

Welcome JoyfulHart, Mtee and Jean! Thanks for taking the time to share your story with me. I'm feeling a little bit discouraged today because yesterday I colored my hair. My daughter did it for me, but I had to apply the conditioner afterwards while in the shower. When I got out, my nails were dry, my cuticles ragged, and I am soooo frustrated! A conditioner shouldn't do that :( My nails, though short, had some growth and white tips but now I had to file them down. Barbara, HOW LONG does it actually take for acrylic damage to the cuticle and nail bed to finally repair itself so I don't have issues like this???
(Also posting this on the Q board because I KNOW others must have problems like this.)

Hi Moi,
The time it takes to heal is contingent on several things.
Let me start by saying something I think you all need to hear. Don't use multiple treatments for the same problem.....i.e. if you are using, (testing) any product to see if it will work for you , you must dedicate the time and efforts to allow what ever you use to either work, or not.. If you use several products, you will never really know what is working for you and just what you're wasting your money and time on...
Now that said, The damage that has been done can not be corrected over night. I know you want that, but no matter what you use, it just wont happen, at least not with lasting natural results. So when I say the formula works to strengthen and grow the nails in 30 days, this is a general number that shows positive results for nails that are basically healthy, but slow to grow.
Moi, I understand your anguish here, but let the product have some time to effectively do its job. Your nails will thank you in the end. (and so will your pocketbook!) If you want to experiment with something, try decorating a room in the house to keep your mind occupied. Please, just keep up the good efforts and you will accomplish what you have set out to do here.
You already spent the money, so hang in there keep that formula on those nails. You will succeed! You will succeed! You will succeed! You will succeed! You will succeed! You will succeed! Keep this mantra!

Hello Everyone, I also had an experience with Barb and her great Customer service and all of her help and using her products and I have nails now for the first time in my life that have to be cut down, and guess what? I cannot post on the QVC forum anymore, I guess I am kicked off for some reason, I think it is for talking about how great Barb and her product is, but I have tried it all and cannot get on to post, I was posting under Jewels90....now it says that I am "not authorized to reply to messages I try to reply to"....well, guess what? They are jealous because this product is not one they sell and I guess they only want postings about their stuff.
So this is what I say.....Barb, you are a great lady, with a dynamite product and superior customer service and a heart of gold, I should know, do not stay away from any of us......please, we all love and respect you, BUT if you are like me, I would never have a pee fight with a skunk.....like I told you before, go to Oprah........
I will contact you personally, this is the first time I have been online forever with all the stuff that has been going on, but please never let anyone keep you away, we all think you are great on the QVC forum, and never forget that, and we love love love your product, this is the first time in my life of 54 years that I needed to cut down my nails.........
You take care, and I will be talking to you tomorrow.

Julie
