Subject: Bending Nail
Message: I have been finally able to grow long nails and enjoy them long. The problem is the longer they get the more the curve in. Is there anything to do to prevent this or even to keep them straight as it seems that softening the nails help them straighten out again?

Message: Henri,
The curve of the nails is mostly due to heredity. Though I understand that if you are deficient in some nutrients and minerals, your nails will "curl". The longer the nails get, the greater the chance of the "curling" So look at your mothers and grand mothers nails....Do they curl or are your nails just longer than they really need to be to look attractive and healthy?

Message: I've been reading through several posts and was wondering if the "bending" could be reduced at all even if heredetary? Both sides of my family seem to have this issue, and on my mother's side the nailbeds seem to be flat too so some of my nails are flat and curl almost as soon as they reach the end of my fingers )c: Is short nails something I have to just adjust to living with if I don't want the curling?

Message: Kim,
curling and nails that flatten are almost always genetic. nothing can be done to straighten them really. short, healthy, well kept nails can be gorgeous too!
