Subject: peeling nails
Message: The top layer of my nails peels off--I've tried cutting down to growth line to see if they will grow back whole, but almost immediately I notice they peel/split. Will this product help?

Message: What can I do for this problem? It has affected eight of my nails and has existed for about 9 months.

Message: I used to have this problem all the time until I started getting really serious about my manicures. You've got to stop filing as much as possible, and start moisturizing a lot. I like to use avacado oil twice a day (once after shower and once before bed)...massage it in to each nail for at least ten seconds, including the cuticle and the skin @ the sides of the nails. If you want to use nail polish, make sure the base coat you're using is either a moisturizing formula, or one that is considered a "builder". Ridge fillers can also be good if they include silk proteins. Invest in some stork scissors with which to trim your nails; I have found that these do not cause as much splitting and peeling as traditional clippers because the scissors are so sharp and precise (and they don't bend your nail before cutting it!).
You can always give a product called Nail Magic a try (can be found almost everywhere and a lot of women swear by it), but I personally don't recommend it because it induces chipping & peeling for the first month or so that you wear it (which drove me nuts...I don't have the patience for that). After that it's supposed to give you beautiful thick nails. It may work for you.
