Subject: Update on my nails
Message: I wanted to let everyone know how my nails are doing. I am very pleased. (Thanks Barbara for your wonderful products!) I started the Growth Formula on Aug. 8th following the instructions, twice a day for a minute per nail. I still had acrylics on my nails since it was a new fill. I removed the acrylics on Aug. 26th. My nails were thin, the tips sore and tender. My nails bent easily and the tips curled up. After a few days, I trimmed my nails shorter to eliminate that bending. Once the acrylics were off, I waited about 2 weeks and then I started to gently buff about every other day or two days. I followed that with the Growth cream and buffed that gently. My nails are so shiny, it looks like I have clear polish on them and my cuticles look great! I thought when I washed my hands, the shine would disappear, but it did not. :) I have half moons and white tips and no hang nails.

Message: Hi Grace,
We appreciate you letting us know of your progress. You are on the track to full recovery. Keep up the good work and keep us posted. If you run into any problems or have questions, you know where to come to. You can always reach us by phone at 912.538.7028 as well as email or here on the forum.
Those nails will recover quicker than you think if you continue as you are going, but a word of cartion, don't over buff with the buffing cream because it has a mild abrasive and your nails are stressed and thin right now....Just buff in the growth formula until they can withstand the pressures of that abrasive. Go gently! The montra here is "modaration in all things!"

Message: Thanks Barbara,
I will heed your word of caution concerning the buffing cream. I'm glad I did purchase your buffer, I was tempted not to because I do have a buffer already, but it is not as nice as yours and it's *Nappy*, but then it's probably older than dirt too. :)
Thanks also for pointing out that products that are "Nail Hardeners" do not harden the nail but only coat the nail with a hardening agent.
I was talking to a friend who gave up acrylics and she decided she wanted a manicure with only polish. She went to the place in the mall where we used to get our acrylics and before they applied the base coat, they took the drill and roughed up her own nail slightly. EEEEK!!!! I would have gotten out of there PDQ!!!
