Subject: Cheryl - Did you ...
Message: Hi Cheryl, Curiosity: Did you get that super tender 'growth' under your nail tips when you had the fakes?
If so, how long did it take to go away, or did you have to see your doc about it?
I was just looking at them under a magnifying lamp.
I was surprised to realize it's under all 10 fingers in varying degrees.
This is rather exciting! I found 2 moons showing, and looking under that same lamp, 3 more are just under the cuticle - only noticeable when gently pressing the cuticle back while massaging in the Growth formula. (Only seen on thumbs my entire life!)
Did you find a sense of wonder as your nails recupped from acrylic poisoning? No, I haven't totally lost my mind - just waiting on the last load of laundry! ;-)

Message: Linda,
no, i never went to see my doctor. probably should have through the inflamation periods. i was afraid he would say, "you big dummy, you're doing this to yourself every two weeks, what do you expect?"
not so much the nail tips as the new growth at the cuticle. everytime they were filled in and drilled down, near my cuticle, it felt like a hot torch and the sensitivity lasted for a few days. i'll never forget the day i took them off, thinking, "oh my lord, what have i done to myself?!" i thought, they are never going to grow out healthy again like i know they can. i regained my senses by that evening and started the formula and haven't stopped. it took a full month before i saw any forward progress. the first couple of weeks my nail beds became less tender and less inflamed, but no new growth. then all of a sudden it seemed they decided it was time to start. just getting my cuticles back healthy was a miracle.

Message: It is really gratifying to hear that this simple idea is making real changes in the condition of your nails. Not to mention the attitude changes....Form "fake" to "natural nails" without it hurting....
Thank you both for your encouragement to those out there trying so hard to reach for what seems the impossible. That type of encouragement is priceless. It is always helpful to hear form someone that has actually experienced the problems first hand, and how the solutions were found...
Hope you guys are cooler than we are down here in "the land of the perpetual melt down!"

Message: Barbara - did you say cooler??? I've been freezing all day! It cooled into the low 50's last night and the house is in no hurry to warm up - guess that insulation really paid off! Shudder to think what's coming around the corner!
Cheryl - I guess I was lucky - the 'drilling' was pretty minimal. At least I don't remember the pro's getting the nails heated up. (They did it for 2.5 years.) One time I slipped when I was close to the cuticle - gave myself a burn/cut.
I can't say I'm seeing growth - I'm still being very careful and still loosing the thinner stuff. I was just so surprised when I had to cut the 2 that 'buckled' under from pushing on the slides to open combination windows.
Find myself wondering where those 'moons' have been hiding: deeper down below the surface (in a safe place?) or if that is a sign of growth - peeking out to see if it's safe! ; - )
Regarding your cuticles: did yours get really rough and ragged too? I couldn't believe the layers of skin I seemed to pull off pretty regularly after the worst of the itching subsided some.
Keep warm - winter's coming! ; - )

Message: howdy Linda,
it has cooled off up here considerably also. when january rolls around, i have to rely on the memory of 95+ degree days!
my cuticles were not too bad. on my middle right finger i have no cuticle. during the middle of all the self torture i lost the nail and the cuticle to infection and inflamation.i have a nail now, but no cuticle. i really have to watch and keep it clean, now that there is no barrier for germs. the inflamation from your allergic reactions is what keeps the skin coming off long after the itching has subsided. like a sunburn that starts peeling a week after the burn and keeps going until new healthy tissue grows. just replacing old with new. i've read where the bigger the moons, the faster the nail will grow. don't know if that's true or not. what was left of my own nail underneath was transparent the first couple days after removal. didn't need water to bend them, just did it on their own! i clipped them off rather then having them rip. about a month into the formula mine just decided it was time to heal and grow, but it took a full month. mine just surrvived a summer of painting and cleaning my rental houses for occupancy. everyday they were in paint, water, cleaners-a lot of liquid! i lost a few along the way, mostly due to using them as "temporary scrapers, which i know is wrong, but do in a pinch. i knew everyday i would come home, wash off the paint and put on the formula and they would start growing again-and they are. within a week, i can have white showing again from a nail that was caught carrying furniture upstairs or from sanding old paint. it's simply amazing stuff, time and time again. i will never be without it.
