 Subject: hot pin method?

I read that a girl used the hot pin method to relieve the pressure under her nail after she slammed it in the car door. What is that? I just slammed mine on Monday, and I have never seen anything so ugly, and I the top of my finger is so puffed up, I'm wondering if I need to try this. What do I do?

sterilize a needle first in boiling water, then heat up the tip with a flame and press it into the nail where the blood is and gently press and the blood will shoot right out. it's under pressure and the tiny hole the needle makes will make the blood come right out. relieving the pressure will feel so much better. the top of your finger puffed out concerns me. you did some tissue damage it sounds like to the tip of the finger. are you sure you didn't break something?
