 Subject: Anyone ever try Hard as Hoof nail cream?

I know I know I know. I can just click on the homepage and order some cream from here but I just needed something fast and so I went to the drugstore and bought some Hard as Hoof nail cream. It's a conditioner that is supposed to help the nail grow stronger. It sounds similar to something that is found on the homepage but I was just wondering if the Hard as Hoof was comparable or not. I understand that people will be a little biased on here and try to get me to buy the stuff on the homepage but I want honest answers about Hard as Hoof. Thank you.

i know sometimes you need something in a hurry. i've been there myself. no one will yell at you here for wanting to get your nails back to where they should be. i personally, don't know about hard-as hoof cream, but i know i don't want hard nails. flexible and healthy is what you should be striving for. hard isn't always a good thing. just something to consider.

The Hard as Hoof product does nothing to increase the growth rate of the nails, it is designed to protect hooves from damage that your nails do not go through, (unless of course you run on all fours, lol.) Which I seriously doubt.... You don't want them brittle, which is what will happen with the hardening effects of the Hard as Hoof cream. So once again, choose a product that is designed specifically for the purpose of Natural Nails for human hands....

Yes, I have heard of it and I have used it. I bought it at WalMart and used it before I used the Natural growth formula of Barbara's. There is no comparison. Trust me, I have used everything on the market and have never had the nails I have now. I have used the Natural Growth formala for 2 years now and there is nothing else out there that is even a close match. My nails are gorgeous. It is not an overnite miracle and will take you a few weeks to notice a big difference, but you will see it.

I was contemplating giving it a try last year - but kept holding off thinking I'd get Barbara's stuff ordered.

All of those hoof ointments are for purposes other than stimulating growth. Our product is specifically designed to increase cell activity, which those products do not do...The ingredients in the dressings and ointments for the horses are great and I acknowledged our products have many of the same beneficial ingredients, but theirs is to stop moisture penetration, not to increase growth rate. If you ever owned a horse you would understand the logic there. Having to file down a hoof is a much greater task than that of filing a fingernail. (LOL)

I've been using it to re grow three damaged nails smashed in a car door. If you keep it on several times a day, it works for me.

I have tried the product, but didn't like it nearly as well as NGF. I am over 50 and am embarrassed to admit that I have bitten my nails for the majority of my years and have tried most everything including Hard as Hoof. While Hard as Hoof did make them stronger, it was a brittle strength, as opposed to the flexible strength of NGF. Another minus for me was the brittleness and dryness of the cuticle--it really made them rough instead of soft and smooth. NGF does work very very well (at least it does for my daughter and me) and, though it takes a few days longer to receive in the mail (very few!) versus going to the store and buying, for me it was well worth the wait!
