Message: Olga,
it stands for "laugh out loud". since we can't actually see the other person's face when we write these messages it's used to let the other person know they find it funny or don't take me too seriously. this type of word is called an acronym-another example-ASAP-"as soon as possible". we would never laugh at you olga. i can't imagine trying to learn english. it's confusing to us sometimes too! you just practice your heart out and ask whatever questions you need to.

Message: I am not sure about other countries, but the American government is all about acronyms. I just took an environmental law class last semester and you wouldn't believe how many acronyms there are. Not only did the international students feel dizzy with all the letters floating around them, but I did, too! It is no suprise that we use so many acronyms when chatting on the internet! See if you can figure this fun one out - CUL8R. Hannah
P.S. C-see
U-you
this one is tougher, L+eight+R=later
"see you later"

After all, Engish is not the hardest one. Have you tried Russian? You can get REALLY dizzy.
But aren't we supposed to talk about nails here?

Message: Hi Olga,
Your English is just fine. At least you make the attempt to communicate in our language. I know most of us here in the states are hard pressed to speak the language properly because of the influences from the "music", (and I use the word loosely here), and just general laziness. No one seems to want to take the time to correct their children today and give them a command of the language. You are an inspiration to us all, so please continue to contribute here.
